Just in time for Earth Day, a Richmond-based utility company is harnessing the power of the sun in a big way. Dominion Virginia Power is firing up the state’s largest solar panel collection system. More than 2,000 panels have been installed on the roof of their facility. The panels will be able to produce up to 500 kilowatts of energy every day. That’s enough to power up 125 homes. That might not seem like a lot but remember this is just one building roof. The goal is that the success of this program will lead to other solar panel installations. The more solar used by the power company, the lower the rates for its customers. Solar power is also the perfect “green” kind of energy. No carbon emissions and beyond the price of the panels, solar power is always free!
You might want to consider solar energy for your home. The costs of kits have been greatly reduced. There are also added tax rebates and incentives provided by the government. You could even get to the point of selling back energy to the power company. Before setting up a solar system, it might help to get your home in order in terms of the clutter. If you’re installing panels on the roof, you’ll need to run lines down through the attic to a power cell in your home. That could prove to be a problem if your attic is full of junk. The same holds true if you want to set up the panels in your backyard. First, you’ve got to get rid of the obstructions. Junk King can help get you there.
Junk King is a company dedicated to green junk removal practices. Not only will you be clearing space for a solar panel installation but you’ll also be helping the planet by recycling your junk. That’s what Junk King pledges to do with every junk removal appointment. As an item is loaded onto the Junk King truck by the crew, they are watching out to see which of those pieces can be dropped off at a nearby recycling center. Whether you’re tossing out old furniture, appliances or e-waste it can all be recycled with the help of Junk King. Going green with junk removal is the only way Junk King operates. Put them to work for you this Earth Day!
