It’s always fun to read the Sonoma County sheriff’s blotter. This is a daily update of calls into the sheriff’s office. Some of these reports sound like they come from the classic “angry neighbor.”
“At 7:48 a.m. Monday Nov. 11, a caller told deputies about a mechanical disturbance in the 29200 block of Sonoma Way. The informant stated the house directly behind hers was undergoing noisy construction. The caller said the workers were breaking city code because Monday was Veteran’s Day – a federal holiday.”
Technically, just because it is a federal holiday doesn’t mean all work should stop. That neighbor was probably just bothered because she had to be home when the work was going on. Then there are the kinds of stories that make you glad you weren’t a witness to:
“At 2:05 p.m. Sunday Nov. 10, someone reported a suspicious person in the 3170 block of Camino Capistrano. A man with no pants was walking by the local Starbucks.”
There are other updates that beg for more explanation:
“At 7:44 p.m. Sunday Nov. 10, a caller reported a group of trespassers in the 33700 block of Camino Capistrano. The informant claimed a group of people was inside a dumpster behind the local Residence Inn, which was making patrons uncomfortable.”
A “group of people” inside a dumpster? You really want to know what a group of people were doing in that dumpster. Of course, this is also a perfect reminder of why having a dumpster on your property is so potentially dangerous: It’s going to attract all kinds of undesirable elements. Sadly, when you rent a dumpster you’ll have to keep it for a few days. It doesn’t make business sense for them to drop off and pick up in the same day. Can you guarantee that the dumpster won’t pull in someone who is looking to do a little “diving” on their own?
You can avoid that temptation by avoiding the dumpster. Instead, call Junk King in Sonoma County to get rid of all your unwanted stuff. One call to Junk King will have a two man crew coming over to your property to pick up and load whatever you’re throwing out. That means that unlike with the dumpster rental, you won’t be doing any backbreaking lifting with Junk King. Best of all, your junk will be gone in a flash. This is really the most sensible and affordable way to clear out the clutter from your home. Forget the dumpster. Put Junk King on the job!
