Make 2023 Your Year of Being Junk-Free

Make 2023 Your Year of Being Junk-Free

Being junk-free is a great goal. In fact, some people make it their New Year’s resolution. But is it really a realistic goal? Can you completely eliminate all of the junk in your home? Maybe not, but you can certainly reduce the amount of trash and other useless stuff that you’ve collected over the past year (or years, in some cases).

Being junk-free is a great thing to aspire to because of how much extra space it provides. Even if you’re usually pretty good about getting rid of trash and stuff you don’t need, there may be room for improvement. You may not have tackled the attic or basement lately, which are two places junk does tend to congregate. Maybe you haven’t cleaned out your shed in a few years or organized the garage.

If you want to declutter at the start of 2023, here are a few of the places you could focus on and some tips for how to get rid of junk. Once you have everything cleaned out, you can reach out to Junk King Cincinnati to help you get rid of the garbage and other stuff you don’t want hanging around for the new year.

Identify the Cluttered Areas

The first step to making 2023 junk-free is to determine where the junk is. Otherwise, you won’t be able to make a solid plan for dealing with it. You may feel like your entire house is cluttered, but where exactly is the clutter? Is it out on your end tables, nightstands, and dining table? Or is it behind cabinet doors, in drawers, and in the closet? If it’s mainly your closet that’s bothering you, that’s where you want to focus your attention.

You may be surprised by what you find when you do a quick survey of your home. For example, you may feel like the little table where you drop your mail, keys, and other items is always cluttered, but when you pick everything up, you find that there’s not much there. In this case, junk may not be the problem. Instead, it’s organization and appearance. You can get a mail sorter, a hanger for your keys, and other things that will help make the space look more organized.

The opposite can also be true. You may have a closet that you have several organizers in, but upon really looking at it, you find that what you usually do is stuff things into those organizers without realizing it. You may have the tools in place to declutter the closet and make it organized, but your process isn’t making the best use of those tools.

Then there’s the worst possible option: a room or section of a room that looks messy and cluttered, has no organization, and has no system in place at all. These are the areas where you’ll typically find the most junk and need to do the most work.

The First Step In Junk Removal Is To Identify the Cluttered Areas

Make a Plan of Attack

It’s important to have a plan to declutter your home. You want to make certain you hit every area you’ve identified as needed cleaned, purged, and organized. It’s also important that you don’t wear yourself out or try to do too much at once. If you try to spend a weekend cleaning the entire house, you may get worn out halfway through and not finish.

Instead, plan a gradual approach. You can still get everything done in a couple of weekends or a week, but you don’t want to exhaust yourself. If you do, you might start throwing things away just to get the job done faster, and that’s not helpful. Coming at each area with fresh eyes can also help you see how to better organize it. You won’t be exhausted from cleaning three other rooms, so your creativity will be at its peak.

Planning out your approach also lets you determine when you’ll need Junk King Cincinnati. You won’t have to hold on to junk any longer than you have to since we will be there right when you need us. Once the junk is gone, you’ll be able to use all of this reclaimed space in any way you want!

Do Some Research

It may sound odd to say you need to do some research before you clean, but it can help. You may not have a good idea of how to organize part of your home. Going online and getting some inspiration can help you figure out how to approach your closet, pantry, garage, or other area. Getting rid of the junk is often the easiest part. It’s figuring out what to do with the things that you’re keeping so the space doesn’t become a haven for junk in the future that can be difficult. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel, though. See what’s worked for other people, then adapt that solution to your home.

Start Sorting!

Now that you have a plan and know what areas of the home need to be cleaned, it’s time to get to it! Your first job will be to gather everything in the space you’re working on. If it’s the living room, that may mean your coffee table and end tables. It could also include anything you have stored in your entertainment center or built-ins. Pull everything out, even things you know you’re going to keep.

Those items can be the first ones to go back to their places or to their new places if you’re moving them around. Next, grab anything that is obviously trash and bag it up or move it to your designated trash area. If it’s something heavy and large like a chair or bookshelf, put a sticky note on it. That way, you know exactly what you’re getting rid of. It also helps us because you can tell our crew to take anything with a note on it.

Once the things you are definitely keeping and the things you’re definitely throwing away are out, you’re left with a pile of maybes. This is what’s going to take the most work. You’ll need to decide if each item is something you want to keep or not. If not, you may want to set it aside to ask friends or relatives if they want it. This is another place where using sticky notes can help. You might have an old TV console you no longer need but think your brother might want. Tag it to ask him about later. You might also want to make a list for each person so when you do talk to them, you know exactly what you have that they might want.

Junk Removal Services In Cincinnati From Junk King

What Do You Do with the Junk?

Now that you’ve got the treasures sorted out and have things marked to give to friends and family, it’s time to deal with the junk. This is where you’ll want to learn more about junk removal in Cincinnati. Junk King is here to quickly and easily remove everything you don’t want, including furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses, hot tubs, and much more. Our crew will come in and haul away anything except hazardous waste. Just point out what you want us to take, and we’ll get it out of your home. You don’t have to take it to the curb or do anything else with the junk. We do it all.

We Can Also Take Things in Usable Condition

Junk King does get rid of junk, but we do a little more than that. What do you do with that entertainment center if your brother doesn’t want it? If you can’t find anyone to take it off your hands, you don’t need to store it. We will take it, but because it’s in good shape, we won’t throw it in the landfill. Instead, we will donate it to one of the local charitable organizations we work with. These organizations work with those in need or with support organizations such as shelters. They will ensure that anything you have that can still be used will help those who need it the most.

After we sort out things that we can donate, we’ll go through what’s left and see what we can recycle. Some items can be recycled as-is, but others may need to be disassembled. We will remove anything that we can recycle to further reduce our impact on the environment. We divert around 70 percent of every load away from the landfill, and we’re always working on ways to increase that amount.

How To Declutter And Reorganize Your Closet For Maximum Clothes Storage Space

How To Declutter And Reorganize Your Closet For Maximum Clothes Storage Space

If you’re looking for ways to declutter junk and reorganize your closet, then you’re in luck! This article will show you how to maximize your clothes storage space with a few easy organizational tips. So, let’s learn more about creating a wardrobe that works for you and find out how you can make the most of every inch of your closet!

Why Is Closet Decluttering and Reorganizing Necessary?

It can be difficult to find the clothes you need and keep your wardrobe organized if you have a cluttered closet. Closet decluttering and reorganizing can help you maximize your closet space so that you can easily find what you’re looking for and keep your clothes clean and wrinkle-free.

There are many benefits to decluttering and reorganizing your closet. A decluttered closet will save you time and frustration when getting dressed in the morning or looking for a specific item of clothing. You’ll also be able to see your clothing options more clearly, which will make it easier to mix and match outfits. And, if you have a small closet, decluttering can give you some much-needed extra space.

To declutter your closet, start by taking everything out of the closet and sorting it into piles: clothes that need to be washed, clothes that need to be mended or dry cleaned, seasonal clothes, out-of-style clothes, and clothes that no longer fit. Donate or sell any clothes you don’t wear or no longer fit. Then, return the remaining items to the closet, grouping them by type (e.g., shirts, pants, skirts) or color. Finally, invest in some storage solutions like baskets or bins to help keep your closet organized. Any remaining items of clothing that you no longer want can be set aside in a donate or junk removal pile.

Reorganizing your closet doesn’t have to be a daunting task – with a little effort, you can turn a cluttered space into an organized haven!

What You Need Before You Start

Before you start decluttering and reorganizing your closet, there are a few things you need to do in order to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. First, you need to gather all of the supplies you’ll need, including:

– Boxes or bags for donation or disposal

– A vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment

– Labels and marker

– Tape measure

– Scissors

– Hangers (if needed)

Once you have all your supplies, take everything out of your closet so you can start with a clean slate. Sort through your clothes and decide what you want to keep, donate, or dispose of. Be ruthless in your purge – if you haven’t worn it in the last year, chances are you won’t wear it again. Once you’ve sorted everything into piles, put away the clothes you’re keeping and properly label the boxes or bags for donation or disposal. Junk King can help with your junk removal process. We donate and recycle as much of the items we collect (upwards of 60 to 70%), giving you a one-stop shop solution. The best part is we will come to you to pick it up!

Now that your closet is empty give it a good cleaning. Vacuum the floor and dust all surfaces. If necessary, wipe down the walls or ceiling. Once everything is clean and dry, you can start putting things back in – but this time, do it in a way that maximizes storage space. Hang clothes on matching hangers and group them by type (dresses together, shirts together, etc.). Place items that can be folded on shelves or in drawers. And don’t forget to leave some empty space! Having

Tips for Maximizing Closet Space

To maximize closet space, it is important to declutter and reorganize on a regular basis. Below are some tips for doing so:

1. Get rid of clothes that you no longer wear. This includes clothes that are too small or too large, as well as those that are out of style. If you haven’t worn something in a year or more, chances are you won’t miss it.

2. Organize your clothing by type and color. This will make it easier to find what you’re looking for and help keep your closet tidy.

3. Invest in storage solutions that make use of all available space. This may include shelves, hooks, hangers, and baskets.

4. Don’t forget about the back of the door! This often-forgotten area can provide valuable storage space for items such as belts, scarves, and hats.

5. Use clear plastic bins to store seasonal clothing or items you don’t use daily. This will free up space in your closet and keep your belongings organized and easy to find.

Tips for Organizing Accessories

Tips for Organizing Accessories

When it comes to decluttering and reorganizing your closet, the accessories are often some of the hardest things to keep track of. Here are a few tips to help you organize your accessories so that they are easy to find and access:

1. Use hooks or hangers: One of the easiest ways to organize your accessories is to use hooks or hangers. This way, you can easily see everything that you have and know exactly where it is.

2. Sort by type: Another great way to organize your accessories is by sorting them by type. This could mean separating your belts, jewelry, scarves, etc., into different sections.

3. Use clear storage containers: If you have a lot of small accessories, using clear storage containers can be extremely helpful. That way, you can see exactly what’s inside without digging through stuff.

4. Label everything: Labeling is always helpful when it comes to organization. Whether you use labels on hooks or storage containers, this will help you know exactly what goes where.

5. Don’t forget about the little things: It’s easy to forget about the smaller items like hair ties and sunglasses when decluttering and reorganizing your closet. But these items can often be some of the hardest to keep track of! So, make sure to put them in a place that’s easy to access and remember.

Ideas for Creative Storage Solutions

One of the biggest challenges when it comes to decluttering and reorganizing your closet is finding creative storage solutions that work for you. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Use clear storage bins: This will help you see what’s inside and make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

2. Get rid of clothes you don’t wear: If you haven’t worn something in six months, chances are you won’t wear it again. Donate it or sell it to make room for items you actually love.

3. Store out-of-season clothes elsewhere: Seasonal clothes can take up a lot of space, so consider storing them in another area of your home (like under the bed) or in a self-storage unit.

4. Use vertical space: Maximize the space in your closet by using tall shelves or hanging rods. This will help prevent your clothes from getting wrinkled or crammed together.

5. Add extra hooks: Install additional hooks on the back of doors or inside cabinets to create more space for hanging items like purses, scarves, or hats.

Taking the time to declutter and reorganize your closet is worth it in the end, as you create more storage space for all of your clothes! By getting rid of anything that doesn’t fit, isn’t needed or wanted anymore, and organizing items better with multi-functional shelves, hangers, and bins, you can reclaim tons of drawer and hanging room. Once you’re done, contact Junk King Cincinnati for an environmentally friendly, no-obligation junk removal quote. Give us a call at 1-888-888-JUNK or send us a text to 1-737-888-5865. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

So, take a deep breath and get ready to sort through your stuff – once you’re done reorganizing things will not only look nicer but be much easier to find too!

Let Junk King Handle the Clean Up After a Winter Storm

Let Junk King Handle the Clean Up After a Winter Storm

Winter storms can do a lot of damage. Whether it’s snow, high winds, or ice, the end result can be thousands of dollars in property damage. You may even find that you have to leave your house for several days or even weeks due to the damage. Once you can get back in, you then have another issue to deal with: all the debris the storm left behind.

Depending on the storm’s severity, you may have more debris than your city dumpster or even the bulk trash pickup can deal with. Trash pickup after these storms is often delayed because of how much debris has to be picked up. This means you could have this trash sitting around in your yard for weeks.

Fortunately, there’s another solution: Junk King Cincinnati. Our crews can haul off just about any debris from winter storms, allowing you to focus on cleaning up and making repairs. The next time Cincinnati is hit with a winter storm, give us a call. Here are some of the ways we can help.

What Damage Can Winter Storms Cause?

Depending on their intensity and what precipitation comes with them, winter storms can do anywhere from a little bit of damage to destroying your home. In some cases, you may find some limbs have come down. This often happens with storms involving heavy snow or high winds. The snow may add too much weight to the branches. It can also weigh down your gutters, weakening the anchors holding them to your home or even causing them to fall off. Even if they don’t become detached, the weight can cause them to become unbalanced.

Another issue is with ice. Ice can freeze around trees and cause even large, healthy branches to come crashing down. In extreme cases, the entire tree trunk can split right down the middle. If the tree is out in the yard, the biggest problem is getting those branches and trunk cut up and hauled off. If limbs are growing out over your home, driveway, fence, or utility lines, they can cause much more damage. A large limb can total a car, put a hole in the roof, or rip the electrical boxes off the side of your home.

While Junk King cannot do anything with live electrical wires, we can help with other debris. We can get rid of those fallen limbs and broken gutters. We can haul away old fencing or what’s left of a shed after a tree falls on it. We can even help you clean your home if a branch crashes down through the roof. Unlike city trash pickup, we can often get to your home within a few days to pick up debris.

Don’t Get Trapped in Your Driveway

Don’t Get Trapped in Your Driveway

One issue people don’t often think of is having their car trapped in the driveway. This can happen if anything large and heavy comes down behind your car. This is often a large tree, though it can be a power pole or fencing. Heavy winds can blow debris around, too, so what ends up blocking your car may not even have come from your yard.

Junk King will come to assist you with cutting up these downed trees and other debris. For utility poles, you’ll need to contact the electric company since there may be live wires present. For most other debris, though, Junk King is here to help.

You Have to Clean Up Before You Can Make Repairs

One of the biggest reasons you need to get rid of the debris as soon as possible after a winter storm is that it can be almost impossible to make repairs until the area is cleaned up. You need those fallen limbs gone before electricians can get into your backyard to make repairs or before you can replace the broken fence panels. You also need to remove the obvious debris so you can tell if other things are broken. When limbs crash down on a shed, you may not actually be able to tell if anything inside the shed is salvageable until you can get into it. If the limbs have broken through the roof or are blocking the door, that may not be possible.

Junk King Can Haul Off More than Just Broken Branches and Damaged Fencing

Junk King takes just about all types of storm debris, including branches, fencing, plasterboard, singles, busted windows, and just about anything else. We can’t handle hazardous waste, but there’s typically very little of that when it comes to storm debris. If your shed has blown over and you want to get rid of it, we can haul it away. We’ll get rid of old patio furniture, swing sets, playhouses, tree houses, pergolas, gazebos, and any other backyard structure that the storm has damaged.

We can also handle patios, balconies, lean-to sheds, and other structures that are attached to your home. You may not want to permanently get rid of these features, but if a storm has damaged them, you’ll want to get rid of the broken sections before making repairs. If the damage was quite extensive, we can haul away the entire deck so you can begin drawing up replacement plans once the winter storms have passed.

Steps to Take After a Severe Winter Storm

Steps to Take After a Severe Winter Storm

What should you do after a severe winter storm leaves debris all over your yard or, worse, does damage to your property? The first step is to make certain you and your family are safe. If you’ve lost power or have had limbs come through windows or your roof, you may need to go to a hotel or stay with a friend or relative for several days or more. Living in a home with a roof hole can be dangerous, especially if you don’t know the full extent of the damage. Without power, you’ll be in the dark and the cold, which can’t be comfortable. For young babies or the elderly, this can be dangerous to their health.

If you do need to relocate, make certain the streets are safe. Don’t try to leave your home in the dark while the storm is still going on unless you absolutely have to. For example, if you suspect the storm has caused damage to your gas line, you need to leave. If you’re just dealing with a broken window, you should try to get the window covered and then wait for the storm to pass.

You also need to check your power lines. They are often hit hard by winter storms, especially those that bring down limbs. Never try to deal with a live line. Even if your power was out before the line fell, you can’t tell if the line is live or not. Call your electric company and keep all of your kids and pets away from the line.

Once you’ve surveyed the damage, you may need to take pictures before moving anything if you need to make an insurance claim. This includes damage to your house, fence, any outbuildings, and vehicles. Your insurance company will want to see exactly what happened. File your claim as soon as possible—adjusters are typically very busy after a storm.

Now It’s Time to Call Junk King Cincinnati!

Now it’s time to call Junk King. You need to eliminate as much debris as possible, and we’re here for you. When you call, we may be able to give you a free estimate over the phone or after seeing photos sent via text. However, since debris can greatly vary in size and shape, we’re probably going to have to do an in-person quote. This allows us to be much more accurate.

All of our quotes are fully transparent. This means they include every fee and other charge you’ll be asked to pay. We believe there should never be any hidden charges or extras tacked on at the end. We know you will have repair costs associated with storm damage, so we want the cleanup to be as simple and as affordable as possible.

As with insurance adjusters, we’re likely to get booked quickly after a storm. If you need to have some debris removed, you need to give us a call as soon as possible so we can get you scheduled. Don’t forget that we can take much more than debris and pick up other items while dealing with fallen tree limbs and damaged fencing. Go ahead and point us towards that old refrigerator you need to have hauled away or the busted sofa that’s taking up space in your garage. Your mind is on dealing with the debris, but take a quick minute to think about what else we could haul off for you while we’re there.

Summer is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to start cleaning up your backyard. There’s a lot you might want to do to prepare your yard for the spring and summer. You may simply want to remove some dead limbs from the trees and clean up the landscaping a bit, or you may want to take down your old shed or add a gazebo. There’s a lot you can do with a backyard, even if it’s on the small side. However, you have to deal with dead plants, fallen limbs, and other junk first. That’s where Junk King of Cincinnati comes in—we’ll help you get rid of anything you don’t need in your backyard before the summer hits.

Cleaning Up Your Backyard

The first step to take in preparing your backyard for the summer is to clean it up. You’ll want to start by looking at your landscaping. Did your bushes, trees, and other plants survive the winter? If you have anything that has died or doesn’t seem to be coming back like it should, you may need to remove it or trim off the dead parts. For trees, in addition to cutting off dead limbs, you may also want to prune some low branches or branches that are going over your home’s roof. Of course, don’t forget to look at your neighbors, too. You will want to make sure you don’t have tree limbs that could come down and damage their property.

After you’ve trimmed your trees and cleaned up your yard, you’ll need to get rid of all of this garbage. Junk King of Cincinnati handles yard waste removal, and we’ll come get rid of your tree limbs and other debris. If you have anything from inside your home, including old furniture and appliances, we’ll take that, too.

Take Down Old Sheds, Playhouses, and other Structures

After you’ve cleaned up your landscaping, it’s time to take a look at any outbuildings or other structures you have. You may have an old shed or a kid’s playhouse that has seen better days. You may be able to make some repairs if these structures aren’t too damaged, but it may also be time for them to come down. If your kids don’t use their playhouse anymore, you may want to get rid of it so it doesn’t become home to stray animals. Their treehouse may be on the verge of falling out of the tree, or a shed may be leaning so badly that a strong wind will knock it over. You may have an unused swing set or play set that your children outgrew years ago, or a deck that needs to be completely redone. No matter the project, you need help removing these items in a safe, reliable manner.

It’s always best to be safe with these structures and take them down rather than waiting for them to fall. They could come down on you, your kids, your pets, or any guests you have at your home. A treehouse could fall into a neighbor’s property, causing damage to their home. Old sheds come become a harbor for pests, which in turn could lead to other issues. Spring is the perfect time to get rid of these buildings so you can replace them or redo your landscaping before summer.

Once they do come down, Junk King will assist you with the debris removal. We’ll load up the wood, shingles, and other debris so you don’t have to deal with it. We’ll even recycle what we can from the structures so as little as possible goes into the landfill. Whether it’s shed removal or you just need to get rid of a few old sections of fencing, we’re here for you.

Take Care of Your Deck

Another item you may need to remove, replace, or repair is your deck. Make certain that the boards are still in good shape and that any stairs or railings haven’t come loose. If your deck isn’t in great shape, someone could fall through it or fall off if the railing gave way.

In many instances, you’ll be able to repair your deck. Just replace the rotten wood, put in a new railing or new stairs, and you should be fine. In some cases, you may need to remove and replace a whole section of the deck, but as long as you’ve treated the wood and done other maintenance, your deck shouldn’t need to be completely replaced. However, if it’s fairly old and is heavily damaged during the winter, it may be time to fully remove it and install a new one.

If you want to build a deck, you first need to get rid of the old one. Fortunately, deck removal isn’t a horrible task, but you do need to get rid of the debris somehow. Junk King will assist you with hauling it away. We can come pick it up, or you can rent one of our dumpsters. Once the old deck is gone, you can get to work on the new one. Before you start, though, consider your current deck and how it met or didn’t meet your needs. This is the time to enlarge it, change its shape, or make any other additions or changes to it.

Update, Repair, or Add Paver Walkways

If you’ve updated your deck, removed a shed, or put in a new outbuilding, you may want to make a fun path to it. This can mean changing up your current pathways and sideways. You may need to remove a paver stone walkway or redirect it. Fortunately, these pathways are very easy to change. The only issue you may face is when you need to add pavers but can’t find matching ones. Common sizes and shapes should be easy to find, but if your pavers are less common and are fairly old, you may not easily be able to find them.

When that happens, or if you have a number of broken pavers, it may be time to simply replace all of them. We will handle the debris removal so you have a clean slate to work with. If any of the pavers aren’t damaged, you can always use them in a flowerbed as a base for a large pot of flowers or something similar. You could even work them into a paver patio if you wanted to create a space with a unique mixture of sizes, shapes, and colors.

Clean Up the Rest of the Yard

Now that you’ve dealt with the trees, sheds, swing sets, decks, patios, and other large items, it’s time to take a look at the rest of your backyard. You may have some old outdoor solar lights that need to be replaced or a broken birdfeeder hanging from a tree. Your kids may have some busted toys laying around, or you might have some outdoor furniture that needs to be tossed. Clean out your flowerbeds and gutters, too. All of this trash needs to go, and the easiest solution is to hire a junk removal company like Junk King.

When it comes to yard rubbish, we do more than just provide the answer to finding “shed removal near me.” We take branches, stumps, sod, old lumber and timber, firewood, shingles, plasterboard, fencing, corrugated iron, and much more. If it’s in your yard and you want rid of it, chances are we can take it.

What Else Do We Haul Away?

Junk King Cincinnati will take a wide range of rubbish. In addition to cleaning up construction waste, yard debris, and other trash from your backyard cleanup, we’ll take many items from inside the home, too. Old furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, and virtually anything else you have that you want hauled off, we’ll take care of. We’ll even get rid of that old hot tub if it no longer works and you’re ready to replace it!

The one thing we can’t handle is any type of hazardous waste. While we can take refrigerators and freezers that have refrigerants, we can’t take other types of dangerous chemicals. If you have some of this waste you need disposed of, we may be able to point you to the right place, but we won’t be able to haul it off for you.

Is your patio furniture starting to look a little worn? Maybe it hasn’t survived the winter. While this outdoor furniture is designed to stand up to rain, snow, bright sunlight, and much more, that doesn’t mean it’s indestructible. At some point, you may find that the chair fabric has rips in it and that the table is a little wobbly and showing its age. When this happens, what do you do? You likely want to replace your outdoor patio furniture, but you have to get rid of the old stuff first.

You have a few different options, but they’re not all simple or easy. Before you start trying to load up your old patio furniture, take a look at what your options are for getting rid of it. You may find that your furniture removal plan isn’t as easy as you thought.

Is Your Patio Furniture at the End of its Life?

First, is it time to get rid of your patio furniture? There are a few things you’ll want to look for. On chairs or benches, check the fabric for rips or other signs of wear. While most outdoor furniture cushions won’t fade quickly, they might start showing some discoloration years later. Check the legs and the overall stability of each chair. Some may be fixed by tightening the screws, but even that may not help for long.

Your patio table may show signs of rust or other damage. The tabletop might be scratched or, if its glass, even have a crack in it. If you have an umbrella, check it for signs of damage and wear as well. If you have any broken furniture, it may be easier to replace everything so you have a matching set instead of trying to find one chair that matches the rest or a table that works with the chairs.

Another thing to consider is whether or not your patio furniture is working for you. You may have bought a small table and four chairs years ago, but now you have more friends over regularly or your family has grown. It may be time to upgrade to a larger table that more people can sit around. You may have purchased a patio set that didn’t have a space for an umbrella and have decided you need one. Even if your outdoor furniture is still in good condition, if it’s not meeting your needs, it may be time to replace it.

What About Repairing It?

With indoor chairs, it’s often possible to fix rips and tears by reupholstering the piece. Doing this with outdoor furniture can be more difficult. First, you have to find outdoor fabrics. These fabrics can be difficult to find and may cost more than you’d think. In some cases, it’s actually more affordable to buy new yard chairs than it is to redo them.

Another issue is finding outdoor fabric that matches the other chairs. You don’t want one chair that doesn’t match the others. You may find that you have to redo all the chairs just to make them match.

Figuring out how to change out the fabric can be difficult, too. Chairs with cushions might not be too different from redoing indoor chairs, but those that are mesh are different. In fact, it may not even be possible to remove the old mesh and replace it. Often, it’s simply easier and more affordable to buy new patio furniture than try to fix what you have.

How to Dispose of Patio Furniture

Once you’ve decided that it’s time to get rid of your patio furniture, it’s time to figure out how to do so. Figuring out how to dispose of patio furniture isn’t quite as simple as it might sound like because of its size. You may not be able to fit your outdoor furniture in your car to get it to the dump, especially if you have a large table or more than a few chairs. Many patio furniture pieces don’t fold up or easily come apart, either, which can make dealing with them more difficult.

While the first option may be to take your old outdoor patio furniture to the dump, if you don’t have a truck or someone with a truck you can use, that’s not an option. You could drag them out to the curb for bulk trash collection. However, you can only put out a specific amount of trash each time. Bulky trash is only collected on specific days, so you may end up with your old patio furniture for weeks or months. Your broken furniture is left on the patio or in your garage taking up space.

You Could Give Away or Donate Your Old Garden Furniture

If your old patio furniture is still in good condition, you could give it to someone or donate it. You may have friends or family members who could use it. However, there’s still the challenge of getting it to them if no one has a truck. The same goes for donating it. There are some services that will come pick up donations, but you do have to schedule the pickup and often have to be home for it. There are also some organizations that don’t accept patio furniture. While it’s great to save your patio furniture if it’s in good shape, you may find it’s harder to do than you’d think.

What’s the Solution? Junk King of Cincinnati!

So how can you get rid of your garden furniture easily if you don’t have a truck? If your patio furniture is broken, there’s no point in keeping it. That’s where a call to Junk King is the right move. Our team will collect broken furniture and much more. Our large collection trucks can hold just about anything, and our process is very simple to navigate. You may find that you have more than just a few old patio chairs and a table to get rid of, too. Gather everything you have to get rid of, and we’ll cart it off in one visit!

While we all hope our appliances will last for years, the unfortunate truth is that eventually, we will have to replace refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, and other items. When it’s time to replace one of your appliances, you have to deal with disposing of the old one. Appliance disposal can be very easy if you know who to call. If you don’t, you may end up storing the old appliance in your garage for years. Let’s look at different appliances and how you can most easily dispose of them.

Refrigerators

Refrigerators are one of the hardest appliances to dispose of because they’re so large and bulky. Searching for “refrigerator disposal near me” will return some results, of course, but you may be shocked at how much it can cost to get rid of a single refrigerator. That’s because in addition to simply dealing with refrigerator removal, you also have to remove the hazardous refrigerant from them before they can be disposed of. Many landfills will not take refrigerators that contain antifreeze and other chemicals.

If you take your old refrigerator out to your garage or out to the curb, you need to take safety precautions. You will need to remove the door so no one can get trapped within it. You should also remove or roll up and secure the power cable. If you can’t remove the doors, securely tape them shut.

Free Junk Removal Price Estimator

Freezers

Much like refrigerator removal, disposing of freezers is difficult because of the chemicals they contain. The refrigerant must be drained out of the freezers before they can be dumped in a landfill. Also, like refrigerators, you must make certain these old appliances are safe until they’re disposed of. This means removing the door or securely taping it shut. Large chest freezers can be even more difficult to take out of your home, so you have to be very careful you don’t hurt yourself. Never try to move one of these appliances by yourself.

Large freezers typically have ice build up in them, so wherever you put the freezer, remember that the ice will melt now that it has no power. Most of these freezers do have a drain port, so once the ice has melted, you can open that little port and let the water drain out. You may not want to do that in your garage, so you may want to move the freezer a second time to drain it, then put it back in the garage until you can have it removed.

Washers and Dryers

Washing machines and dryers are also fairly large and heavy appliances you may need to replace at some point. If you purchase new ones and have them delivered, you may be able to pay to have the old ones removed. However, if you don’t have that option, you’ll need to do something with the old appliances.

Washers and dryers don’t have any chemicals in them, so you don’t have to worry about refrigerants. However, you do want to make certain that your washing machine water lines have been completely drained. You’ll need to turn off the water to the washer and remove the hoses from the back of the appliance.

For the dryer, you’ll want to remove the vent hose. This is typically a large, flexible hose that attaches to both the wall and the dryer with a circular clamp. Remove it from both, and then use something like an old rag to plug the vent hole in your wall. This exhaust vents to the outside, and if you don’t plug it up, it could create a draft. It’s also possible, though unlikely that rodents or even birds could get into it from the outside and move through it into your house. Tape the doors shut before you take these appliances to the garage or other location to store them until you can hire an appliance disposal service.

Kitchen Stoves and Ovens

Kitchen stoves and ovens may not need to be replaced as often as washing machines, dryers, or refrigerators, but they can still wear out. Your stove and oven may be one single unit, which is easier to deal with. If your stove is electric, simply unplug it and pull it away from the wall, then move it to wherever you want. If it’s gas, you’ll want to be certain you understand how to turn off the gas before you move the unit.

Built-in cooktops and ovens can be more difficult to remove. When your oven isn’t a part of your stove, you may need to unscrew it from the cabinet or other enclosure, figure out where the power or gas line is located, and take other steps. In this case, it may be easier to hire someone to remove the oven and install the new one. It depends on how confident you are in doing such a task. Either way, the old oven isn’t as difficult to store as a full stove/oven appliance since it’s smaller.

Air Conditioners and Furnaces

Replacing and disposing of window AC units is fairly easy, while dealing with full HVAC air conditioners and furnaces isn’t. However, when your home has a 30-year-old air conditioner, it may be time to replace it. Newer models are more energy-efficient and keep your home more comfortable without using as much power.

Normally, you don’t have to worry too much about appliance disposal when it comes to HVAC units and equipment because those repairs, replacements, and updates have to be done by licensed professionals. They normally dispose of any old parts they have to remove, so you won’t need to search online for “air conditioner disposal near me.” If you do have to get rid of old HVAC parts, though, Junk King of Cincinnati can take them.

If you have an old window unit that no longer works, you’ll need to have it removed. Fortunately, storing these small appliances is much easier than finding somewhere to keep a large chest freezer or washing machine. Just make sure you place it somewhere out of the way. Small window units, unlike large appliances, could actually present a tripping hazard if you put them in the wrong place.

New call-to-action

Microwaves and other Small Appliance Disposal

Small appliance disposal is much easier than dealing with large items. These appliances such as microwaves, toaster ovens, and other items can be easily stored and may even be acceptable for bulky trash pickup. However, if you’re getting rid of larger appliances or other large amounts of junk, you can simply throw your small appliances in with them.

The most important thing with small appliances is to make sure they’re safe to dispose of. You’ll want to remove any plates, trays, and other items from inside them. As with other appliances, be sure to tape the doors shut and wrap up any cords. These small appliances, like window unit air conditioners, can be tripping hazards, so be sure to store them somewhere out of the way until they can be disposed of.

Instead of Disposal, Consider Appliance Recycling

While disposing of old appliances gets them out of your home, it does send them to the landfill. This isn’t environmentally friendly, especially since many of these large appliances can’t be compacted. However, there is another option: appliance recycling. Most appliances can be at least partially recycled. Even if all parts cannot be, much of the metal, glass, and plastic can.

Junk King handles appliance removal, but we also work with local recycling centers to recycle what parts of them we can. We sort out anything that is recyclable, which includes appliances. We will have the refrigerant and other chemicals drained from them, then disassemble them into their recyclable components. All of this is done at no additional cost to you. We’re dedicated to reducing the amount of junk that goes into a landfill, and our recycling initiative is the primary way we do that.

Let Junk King Help

When it comes to appliance disposal, you don’t want to do it yourself. You would have to lug the old appliance outside, load it in a truck, and take it to the landfill. You’d also have to pay the landfill dumping fee. Instead of dealing with that or storing your old appliance until you can get rid of it, call Junk King.

Junk King is a professional junk hauling company that can haul off more than just appliances. We also take old furniture, televisions, yard waste, old electronics, construction debris, and other trash. Our quotes are fully transparent, and we will explain every single fee before asking you to sign off on anything. If you do decide to work with Junk King, our team will quickly and efficiently remove any junk, including appliances, without damaging your home. We’ll sort out what goes to appliance recycling, what can be donated, and what unfortunately has to go to the dump.

There’s no need to search for “appliance disposal near me.” Just give Junk King of Cincinnati a call at 1-888-888-JUNK, text us at 1-737-888-5865, or go online and book an appointment today.

Junk King Dumpster Rental in Cincinnati OH

Get Your Basement Back with Dumpster Rental in Cincinnati, Ohio

Is your basement full of, well, stuff? Basements tend to collect whatever doesn’t fit anywhere else in the house. Sometimes, this stuff is old family heirlooms and other things that you don’t want to get rid of but don’t need on hand every day. Other times, though, this stuff is really not anything you’ll ever use again. It’s junk, and it’s taking up space that you could be using for other things. If you’re ready to get rid of all this garbage and reclaim your basement, it’s time to think about dumpster rental in Cincinnati, Ohio. Renting a dumpster can be the solution to your overflowing basement, garage, shed, and any other part of your home.

Why Clean Out the Basement?

Why should you take the time to clean out your basement? After all, you may never go down there, so why bother with it? It’s the creepy, dark part of your home that exists to swallow up all the stuff you haven’t gotten rid of yet. Your basement could be much more than that, though. There are many different uses for this part of your house.

Expand Your Living Space

One of the biggest reasons to reclaim your basement is to make it usable living space. This can take a little work, of course. You may need to put in new flooring, add insulation to the walls, put in better lighting, and make it feel more like a room than a basement. However, this could be the solution to all of your space issues. The basement can become a bedroom, movie room, home gym, office, or any other space you need. It just takes cleaning it out and putting in a little work.

Be Ready for a Storm

Even if you don’t want to finish the basement, you still want to have it at least partially cleaned out in case of a disaster. You will want room for you and your family to fit in the basement and, potentially, spend several hours there. This means you will likely want space for some chairs along with your emergency supplies. These should include some blankets, water bottles, food, flashlights, and other items. You’ll want everyone to have enough space to be comfortable while you wait out the storm.

Make Space for What’s Really Important

Do you have items you know you need to store in the basement but no room for them? If that’s the case, why not do a purge and get rid of the stuff in the basement that you don’t want or have a use for? Make some room for what’s really important and get rid of the items that no longer have a place in your life.

Why Rent a Dumpster?

With these reasons in mind, it’s time to start cleaning out your basement. You might be tempted to start throwing stuff into garbage bags and filling up your bins, but you may find that you quickly run out of space. You also may now not have room for any other garbage, which means you end up with bags of trash in your garage until the garbage collectors come around to empty the bins.

If you don’t have a huge amount of stuff to get rid of, and it’s small enough to fit in a garbage bag, you may be able to use your trash bins. However, you may also have to stretch your basement cleaning out over several weeks to make sure there’s enough room in your bins. You’re not going to be able to get rid of any furniture or large appliances, either. This may limit how much space you can truly clear out.

That’s where dumpsters come into play. If you rent a dumpster in Cincinnati, you can get rid of just about anything. Dumpsters can accommodate furniture, appliances, a large number of trash bags, construction and yard debris, and much more. You have plenty of space to fill with the junk in your basement.

Renting a dumpster can be more affordable than other junk removal options, especially if you want to clean as you sort through items. You can look through a box, decide it’s trash, and take it straight out to the dumpster. If you were to use a junk hauling service, you would have to store the unwanted items somewhere until the team arrived to take them away. Sometimes, you have the space to do that, but sometimes, you need to make room to go through other things. Tossing items into the dumpster as you clean can give you this space.

Why Junk King?

Junk King is known as one of the best junk hauling services in the country, so why would we promote dumpster rental over junk hauling? Simple—it sometimes makes the most sense for you. We want to make certain you have the time and space you need to get rid of your junk. Sometimes, that means making use of our dumpster rental service instead of our junk hauling service.

However, just because we’re dropping off a dumpster instead of picking up your garbage doesn’t mean that you get anything less than our best. Junk King’s outstanding customer service extends to our dumpster rental. We will deliver your dumpster at the scheduled time, pick it up when you call, and answer any questions you may have. We will do whatever it takes to make the process easier for you. As one of our previous clients said, “They were very helpful and flexible in setting our appointment and sent reminders…they were here on time and were kind and friendly.”

What Does Junk King Dumpster Rental Entail?

Renting a dumpster from Junk King is a very straightforward process. First, you decide how many days you need the dumpster for. We typically offer three-, five-, and seven-day rental options, although we are more than happy to discuss longer rental periods. We can also add on time if you reach the end of your rental period and aren’t quite finished. We offer competitive dumpster rental prices in Cincinnati, Ohio, so you won’t have to break the bank in order to clean out your basement.

Once you’ve decided how long you’ll need the dumpster, let us know what day you want it delivered. We will drop it off at that scheduled time and you can get to work filling it up. Once you’re finished, you can either wait for us to come back at the scheduled time or, if you’re done early, give us a call and we’ll pick it up as soon as we can. If you run out of space before you’re finished, just give us a call and we’ll bring you a new dumpster.

Our dumpsters are large enough to handle a lot of the junk found in basements, but they’re not so big that they will take up your entire drive or your yard. They’re designed to prevent damage to cement, grass, or other landscaping while still giving you enough room.

What Can You Put in a Dumpster?

Junk King can haul away almost anything, and the same is true for what we will take in our dumpsters. You can toss anything in one of our dumpsters as long as it isn’t hazardous. We can’t accept any hazardous waste. Other than that, feel free to toss in furniture, old televisions, yard waste, appliances, electronics, trash, construction waste, and more.

We Will Donate What We Can

While some of what you have in your basement may be garbage, you may have some usable furniture and other items there that you just don’t need. These items may be in good condition and could be used by others. That’s why Junk King donates or recycles as much as we possibly can. This is a service we offer to everyone at no cost, and you don’t have to do anything extra. We will go through the dumpster after we pick it up and pull out anything that we can donate or recycle. This includes gently used furniture, working appliances, and anything else our donation partners are looking for.

As far as recycling goes, a lot of what people throw away can be recycled. It’s even possible to recycle some parts of furniture. Again, we handle all of the sorting, so you don’t have to do anything. We work with a number of recycling centers in Cincinnati to keep as much junk as we can out of the landfills.

Junk King Cincinnati Can Help Cincinnati Realtors

7 Benefits Cincinnati Realtors Get from Pairing with Junk King

As a real estate professional, you know how to sell houses. You understand how to market them, how to negotiate with buyers and sellers, and how to help your buyers get a great deal. All of this takes a lot of time and effort. When you have a property that is full of garbage, you know it’s going to sell faster and for more money if you have it cleaned out.

Normally, this is something you would ask the seller to deal with. However, there are times when that’s not an easy option. The seller may live out of state, or you may have been hired by a lender to sell a foreclosed property. Maybe you even purchased the property yourself to flip or invest in as a rental. No matter what the reason, you don’t have time to deal with the garbage. That’s where Junk King Cincinnati comes in. We can help you take care of all the trash and other junk at a property quickly and affordably. Here are a few of the benefits realtors get when they pair with us.

full service junk removal

You Don’t Have to Do Any of the Work

Perhaps the biggest benefit to working with Junk King is that you don’t have to do any of the work. Just call us up, tell us what you need, and accept our estimate. You can tell us what you need removed over the phone or text some photos to us. If you’re dealing with a major hoarder house or foreclosure, we can meet you at the property and do a walkthrough to give you the most accurate quote possible. We will also likely bring one of our trucks with us so we can get started right then and there if you’re agreeable.

That’s it. You don’t have to do anything else. We will take notes on what you want us to take or, in the event of a large amount of junk, what few items you want us to leave. You let us know what you need us to do, and we will take care of it. That includes yard debris and other garbage on the outside of the home in addition to the trash inside.

This leaves your team free to work on selling the home and your other tasks. You don’t need to coordinate renting a truck or hiring people to come load it up. We take care of that plus all the necessary dumping fees, recycling fees, and any other extra charges. They’re all built into our very transparent estimate. If you have any questions about any of these fees, please ask.

We’re Professionals

Junk hauling may seem like a fairly straightforward task, but there are a few major differences between us and the average person trying to load up a truck of garbage. Our team understands how to safely move heavy and bulky appliances and furniture. We can get that old sofa or broken refrigerator through the tightest spaces, and we will do so without scratching up the walls or floor.

We also know the proper method for lifting and carrying items. If you have your employees, the sellers, or a few friends try to move heavy objects, they could hurt themselves. This could come back on you as the business owner or on the sellers as the property owners. No one wants to have to deal with the insurance nightmare that could come from someone being injured like this. We know how to safely lift heavy objects, and we have safety gear such as back braces to assist in preventing injuries.

We Bring the Right Equipment

To move some large appliances and furniture, you need to have a dolly or lifting straps. You may not have either of these items. We have this equipment and more that helps make the moving process easier and safer. Without the right equipment, you’re more likely to injure yourself or damage the home you’re trying to sell. We always bring all of our equipment to every job, so we have everything on hand.

Our trucks are large enough to handle almost any project. If you were using your own truck, it could take several trips. We can typically take everything in one load. These large vehicles are designed to haul a large amount of heavy items, too, so they’re better equipped than a standard pickup truck.

Empty Houses Sell Better

If you have a foreclosed property or have been hired by a seller to sell a home that is still full of stuff, you’re going to have a hard time getting buyers to be interested. Many of them are going to take one look at all the junk in the home and decide to look elsewhere, even if the house is in a great location and in good shape. All of the clutter, especially if it’s old furniture, broken appliances, and trash, is going to greatly decrease the attractiveness of the home.

We will come in and get rid of all of that junk. Once we’ve cleaned out the property, you can come in with the seller and make minor repairs or other changes. Then you can lead potential buyers through the home knowing that they will be able to better see the house for what it is. Even if the property is being sold as-is, potential flippers will be able to get a better sense of the space once it’s emptied out.

When you remove everything from a room, it’s going to look bigger. This can be very important if you have a small property you’re trying to sell. The larger each room seems, the more likely it is that a potential buyer will be interested in it. If some of this junk is blocking windows, having it hauled off will help bring more natural light into the house, too.

We Haul Away Yard Debris, Too

You may have a property that looks amazing on the inside, but the exterior is full of dead bushes, fallen limbs, and other debris. That brings down the curb appeal of the property, and some potential buyers may decide not to even look inside the home because the outside looks so bad.

Junk King will come in and remove all of this yard waste. Whether it’s clipping, branches, old fencing, lumber, or other types of yard debris, we’ll quickly remove it so your landscaping crew can transform the property. Even if you don’t have landscapers coming, getting rid of this debris will make the space look larger and safer. That can be a major factor in whether or not someone buys a home. Parents, for example, may not want to purchase a house that has a backyard full of downed limbs, unsafe equipment, or broken fence posts.

Buyers See Junk as an Expense

The bottom line is that buyers see junk as another expense that they will have to deal with. Whether it’s removing all the junk inside a house or dealing with debris in the yard, they’re going to either haul it away themselves or pay to have it done. Some buyers may make it their offer contingent on the junk being removed, while others may submit offers lower than the asking cost because the home is full of garbage. While lenders may just want to offload their foreclosed properties and not necessarily expect to make any profit, sellers will want to get every dollar they can. Spending a little to remove the junk can boost the selling price by a good amount.

We Protect Your Bottom Line

No one wants to spend more money than they have to for anything, including junk hauling. We recognize that your sellers aren’t going to have a lot of money to spend, especially if they have to do costly repairs or updates on the home to get it on the market. That’s why we make our services as affordable as possible.

Our pricing structure is based on how much space your garbage takes up. You won’t pay for an entire garbage truck if all you have is an old refrigerator to haul away. Even if you do have an entire house full of garbage to get rid of, we will carefully measure how much space it takes up so you only pay for what you use. The end result is that you spend less money on junk hauling, giving your sellers more of a profit.

What We Do with Furniture Donation at Junk King Cincinnati

Junk King deals with all sorts of junk. Our trucks are busy every day picking up junk from our residential and commercial customers. A good amount of what we haul away is garbage, of course, but there are some items that are still in good condition. When we find these working appliances and gently used furniture, we don’t take them to the dump. Instead, we donate them. This helps reduce the amount of garbage we add to the landfill plus helps those in need.

What Happens with Furniture Donation?

When you donate furniture, Junk King will come and pick it up just as we would any other junk. In fact, you can combine a donation with a junk pickup. We will separate out what’s garbage and what can be donated. We then take the donated furniture, appliances, and any other items to one of the local organizations and charities we work with. These organizations are dedicated to helping Cincinnatians in need get back on their feet.

When we drop off furniture, it’s typically deep cleaned and carefully checked over before being given to those who need it. This ensures that the furniture is truly in good condition and can be used. If it’s not, we will take it to the landfill or recycling center. Once we drop off the furniture, it’s up to the organization to pass it on to those who need it. In some cases, such as when we take donated furniture to a shelter, the organization itself may use it.

Why Do We Donate Furniture?

One question we often get is why do we donate furniture? It does take more work to sort out furniture and other items that are in good condition and donate them. We do not charge anything extra for this work, nor do we include any fees for donating furniture. We cover any additional costs and the manpower it takes to sort through the junk we collect because we are dedicated to protecting the environment.

Junk King’s goal is to donate or recycle at least 60 percent of everything we collect. That is a tall order, but we truly believe that it’s possible. There are many items that we pick up that can still be used, so why shouldn’t they be? Putting these gently used items in the landfill is a waste. They take up additional space and lead to more raw materials being used to create new furniture.

We also want to help those in Cincinnati and the surrounding communities who may not have the resources to purchase furniture. The charities and other organizations we work with help these individuals get the furniture they need for free or at a very low cost. We’ve worked with some of these organizations for years and are proud of the impact we have had on our community.

What Can You Donate?

You can donate any furniture or appliances, but we won’t be able to pass on all of them. If the appliance doesn’t work, there’s often nothing we can do except take it to the landfill or to be recycled. We don’t have any technicians who can repair these items.

Broken furniture is also, unfortunately, often not something we can donate. This furniture can present a safety hazard, so we don’t want to put anyone at risk. If the damage is cosmetic, such as a small stain on a chair cushion, it’s often still usable. However, if the stains are accompanied by an odor that cannot come out, we often have to dump the piece. It’s unfortunate, but we do want to make certain anyone who uses the furniture after it’s donated can do so safely.

Any furniture that has been exposed to pests or insects, including bed bugs or fleas, is typically not donated. We do not want to cause an infestation anywhere else. Likewise, we cannot take anything that includes hazardous materials. Most furniture doesn’t, but some appliances do include chemicals that we cannot take. If you have a question about what we can haul away, please call and ask. Most household appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, and washer/dryer units, are accepted.

Donation Centers May Not Accept Everything

While we will haul away any furniture you set out, donation centers do not always accept everything. In addition to broken furniture, many donation centers will not accept mattresses. This is due to the personal nature of beds and the fact that mattresses are often the source of bedbugs. Because of this, many organizations will also not accept box springs. Some are open to bedframes. We will do all of the research and know what organizations will and will not accept, so you don’t have to worry about it.

How Can You Donate Through Junk King?

Furniture donation is incredibly easy with Junk King. If you have gently used furniture that you believe someone else could use but you no longer need, just give us a call. Tell us what you have and that it’s still in good shape. We will work with you to find the right time to come pick it up. We can also haul away other junk at the same time, so you don’t need to make two different appointments.

That’s all you have to do. We will come pick up the donation and anything else you have at the scheduled time. Once we have verified that the furniture is in good condition, we will take it to the right place. You don’t need to remove the furniture from your home or have it set out anywhere in particular. Just point our team to it. We will take great care in removing the items from your house so we don’t damage them or your home.

What Does Junk King Take?

We will haul away just about anything that isn’t hazardous. This includes much more than furniture and appliances, of course. We will also haul away the following:

What Happens to Furniture that Cannot Be Donated?

Junk King hates putting anything in the landfill. While we know that there are some items that simply cannot be reused or recycled, we do our best to keep things out of the dump. While not all furniture can be recycled some can. We will do what we can to ensure that any damaged furniture we take gets recycled. Unfortunately, it’s not always simple to recycle furniture. Some of the materials used cannot easily be reclaimed and used again. For example, wood used in furniture may be treated with a coating or varnish that makes it hard to reuse.

It’s not impossible to recycle furniture. Metal furniture is often taken by scrap metal recyclers, so anything that is mostly metal can easily be recycled. Wooden furniture isn’t always as simple to recycle, but there are places that will remove what they can. This is especially true if the furniture is vintage or contains unique materials.

Junk King has Helped Cincinnati Residents and Business Owners for Years

If you’ve had a tenant leave behind a few pieces of furniture, give us a call. We can donate this furniture or take it to the landfill, depending on its condition.

While most furniture and other items left behind by tenants aren’t in great condition, some people do abandon items that still have life in them. They may not have had room for this furniture in the moving truck, or they may have simply decided to replace it. Regardless of why it was left, you need it out of your rental unit, and we will help you with that.

The Junk Removal Solution Cincinnati Rental Management Companies Can Trust

If you own a rental management company in Cincinnati, you have likely found yourself in need of a junk removal crew several times. Tenants may move out or be evicted and leave behind unsalvageable furniture, large piles of garbage, and other junk. You have to get this trash removed quickly before you can begin searching for new tenants for the property.

While smaller pieces of furniture and a few garbage bags of trash can be dealt with fairly easily, it’s not quite as simple to remove an entire property’s worth of junk. That’s where the experts come in. These experienced junk haulers at Junk King know how to quickly, safely, and affordably handle large amounts of trash, including furniture, garbage, and more.

When Good Renters Go Bad, Junk Hauling Is Often a Necessity

Many tenants are great. They are respectful of the property, pay their rent on time, and communicate with you whenever there is an issue. When they move out, they give you 30 days’ notice and completely clean out the property.

However, some tenants are not so great. They may damage the property themselves and not report it. They might be short on their rent or perpetually behind. When they do move out, they may leave behind a lot of garbage. This can include trash, but it may also include things such as stained carpets and broken cabinets that you must dispose of and replace. They may also leave behind some of their own property.

This issue may be even worse if you must evict someone. These tenants may intentionally damage the property before leaving or leave large amounts of trash behind. This junk has to be dealt with before anything else can happen with the property. If you manage a number of properties or a large apartment complex, however, you may not have time to personally deal with the situation.

Let Junk King Help with Junk Removal in Cincinnati

That’s where hiring a junk removal company in Cincinnati can save you time and money. These teams are not afraid to enter properties that have been thoroughly trashed. They have the equipment to do so and are prepared to quickly empty everything from a small apartment to a large three- or four-bedroom house. Even if the tenants took most of their items and left the property in fairly good condition, you may still need a junk hauler to get rid of what was left before you can prepare the property for new tenants.

How Junk King Can Help You with Leftover Tenant Junk

Why hire a professional junk removal company instead of cleaning out the place yourself? There are a few reasons why you should let others handle this chore:

– You have other responsibilities as a property manager that take up your time.

– You may not have a large truck or other vehicle to use to haul away the junk.

– Cleaning out these properties often takes more than one person, and you may not have others you could call on for help.

– Some properties may require several days to clean out, which could tie up your own personnel and prevent other tasks from getting done.

Junk King Cincinnati is here to help you with cleaning out any rental property. It doesn’t matter how large or small the property is or how much junk there is in it—we’re here to ensure that everything is removed quickly and for a reasonable cost. We can handle many types of junk and are available to clean out both residential properties and commercial buildings.

There are some materials that we are unable to remove, including hazardous materials, concrete, and other construction debris. If you have any questions about what Junk King can handle, please ask. Other than these specific materials, however, there is nothing too large or too bulky for us to handle. Don’t worry about being embarrassed by the state of the property or concerned about the quantity of junk, either. In our years of experience in this industry, our teams have seen and dealt with it all.

What do we do with your waste? Whenever possible, we take junk to the appropriate recycling center. We firmly believe in being eco-friendly. We typically recycle more than 60 percent of everything we haul away.

In addition to recycling scrap metal, paper, plastic, and other materials, we also donate any usable items to local nonprofit organizations and other community donation centers. We believe that one person’s junk can truly be another person’s treasure.

Avoid Injuries and Further Property Damage

When it comes to a rental property, the type of junk left behind can vary. In some cases, it may be limited to a few trash bags of garbage and a couple pieces of broken furniture. In other instances, especially if the tenants left quickly or were evicted, it may include much more. There may be heavy wardrobes, large mattresses, refrigerators, and other large items that require several people to maneuver out of the home.

Working with these bulky, heavy appliances comes with a few risks, especially for those who are not familiar with moving them.

First, due to their weight, you could drop the appliance on your foot, resulting in a fracture or even broken bones. The appliance could also fall into someone, causing them to fall or slam into a wall or other furniture. The risk of injury increases if you have to carry these items up or down stairs. It’s also possible to strain your back, injure your knee, or incur any of the other injuries that are common with moving heavy furniture.

A professional junk removal team also knows how to carefully maneuver these bulky items to get them out of the house without damaging the property. When the hard corner of a shelf, refrigerator, or other item collides with a wall, it can damage the drywall or chip the paint. These appliances can also easily scratch up hardwood floors or crack tiles if they’re dropped.

Our junk removal experts understand how to carefully remove heavy, bulky items safely and without damaging the walls or flooring. We use tools such as lift straps, sliders, and dollies to ensure that items are removed properly and safely.
