Good news for Mason Ohio residents: We’ve just been named number 7 on Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live” list. That would put Mason as the top-ranked city in Ohio. To make the list, a town needs to have a population between 10,000 and 50,000. Over 1,326 made the cut and Money looked at things like income, diversity, education, crime, job growth, housing, health care, arts and leisure, and ease of living.

Here is what Money said about Mason, “At the helm is Mayor David Nichols…he has helped bring several new employers to town—where they join an already impressive list of firms like Procter & Gamble and Mitsubishi. The schools are among Ohio’s best.”

The first time that Mason made this list was back in 2007. Back then we were ranked number 81. By 2011, we had climbed up to 24th on list and now we’ve hit the top ten. Could number one be in our future?

“We are thrilled to be in the top ten,” said Mayor Nichols to Money. “The ranking validates our strategy of having economic development drive community growth, stability, and benefits. We couldn’t have done it without our wonderful residents, schools, and local businesses who contribute so much to the community. This is an award for all of us.”
