What Should I Do on Move-In Day?
Trash pickup and junk removal might not be the first thing you think about when you’re moving to a new place, but it’s an important part of getting to know your new home. After all, you don’t want to end up with bags of trash sitting on your curb all week because you missed pickup day, especially if you’ve just finished moving in. Moving can generate a ton of junk, and it’s never a bad thing to plan ahead and figure out how you’re going to get rid of it all.

Whether you’re just renting one of our self-service MINI dumpsters or opting for full-service junk removal, we’re here to help your move-in day go as smoothly as possible.
Moving can be expensive, but with Junk King Dallas Mid-Cities, you can rest assured that you’re getting the best price available. With Junk King, we don’t think you should have to pay extra if you only have a little trash to haul away, so we’ll only ever charge you for the space in the truck that you actually use. We also offer free price estimates, so you know going in how much it’s going to cost. For a free estimate, just give us a call at 1-888-888-JUNK, or use our online price estimation tool.
Once you’ve settled into your new place, then it’s time to learn how trash pickup works in your new community. Don’t worry, we can help with that too!
How Does Trash Pickup Work in Irving, Texas?
Like most communities, Irving offers free, regular trash collection twice a week. To have your trash picked up, just make sure it’s out by the curb by 7 am, but no earlier than 6 pm the previous day. The specific trash pickup days vary depending on where you live, so getting in touch with the city is the best way to find out which day you should leave out your refuse. If you’d rather skip the phone call with the government, of course, you can always just ask your new neighbors.
There are a few rules you’ll have to follow when leaving your trash out at the curb. First, everything has to be in a bag – no dumping loose garbage out on the street. The bags have to be between 13 and 30 gallons, and they can be any color other than blue or red. Recycling and cardboard go in transparent blue bags.
Large items, like furniture, appliances, or brush from your yard can only be picked up on special recycling or brush days. If you’d rather not wait that long, of course, Junk King will happily haul away any furniture, broken appliances, or yard waste. In fact, we’ll take pretty much anything except toxic waste.
What About Trash Overflow?
Regular trash pickup is nice, but sometimes during spring cleaning or home projects, you’ll end up with a ton of extra garbage or junk. If you find yourself with an excess of trash and you’d rather not leave it in your garage until pickup day, then Junk King Dallas Mid-Cities is the solution for you. At Junk King, our goal is to have your hauling project done within 24 hours of your first phone call, so you don’t have to leave your junk just sitting around for days until we reach you. All you have to do is give us a call, pick a day and time, and give us an idea of how much trash you need us to haul away.
Our pricing setup is pretty straightforward, so you don’t have to worry about being charged extra for a huge project. Even if your junk requires multiple teams, you’ll still only pay for the amount of space your trash takes up in our truck – it’s that simple. That also means you don’t have to worry about paying a ton of money for a small amount of trash.
Our trained professionals will also do all the work for you, so you don’t even have to pull stuff out into the lawn. Just point to anything you need to have hauled away and we’ll do it for you! That goes for trash bags, boxes, furniture, appliances, mattresses, yard waste, or even electronic waste like TVs or computer monitors. As long as it’s not toxic or radioactive, we’ll haul it away.
Furniture, Appliances, and other Bulky Items
For large, bulky items like furniture or appliances, you’ll have to wait for a bulky item day to come along. If you’d rather not wait, you can try selling the item online or to a friend, or just call a professional junk hauling service like Junk King to take care of the situation for you. Bulky objects like furniture are a specialty of ours, and our junk removal professionals are well trained in the best way to haul away wardrobes, bed frames, fridges, or anything else you might have without scratching your floors or the wall.
