Then there is the volume issue. You will probably be restricted to filling up your dumpster only to ¾ of the capacity. This is because the rental company will need to close the lid in order to transport that dumpster. What happens if you have more trash than what fits in your dumpster? Will your dumpster have to be taken away, emptied and brought back? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of renting the dumpster in the first place?
That issue of capacity is important because if you rent the wrong size dumpster then you’ll be in trouble. One thing to consider is that you might think you’ll only have a certain amount of garbage but once your neighbors see that dumpster, they’re going to think its open season as far as getting rid of trash it concerned. Many folks have discovered that an empty dumpster dropped off in the afternoon is full to the brim with other people’s trash by the next morning.
