Any tree that is at least ten inches in diameter and 54 inches tall would fall under this protection. If you have a tree on your property that is “protected” you need to get special permission to have the tree removed or significantly pruned. That might seem a bit involved for tree trimming, but the intentions of the city are in the right place.
