In a few days the solstice will come, marking the longest day of the year and the official start of summer. Before long the 4th of July will roll around and with it Red, White and BOOM! While trying to overcome the writer’s block of sitting down and writing this message I decided to look around and found a few neat articles that I wanted to share with you all.
This first one is an article of tips for taking good photographs of fireworks with a mobile phone, I’d assume they’d apply to digital cameras and other night photography as well. As a matter of fact, I bet those techniques would be applicable to other nighttime summer activities like the Perseid meteor shower (that’s a link to the NASA tool that estimates the number of shooting stars per hour based on your location) every year in August but usually peaking around the 12th).
Here is a link for those of you planning a visit to Red White and BOOM! (the event’s homepage).
If you haven’t had a chance, make sure to visit the Scioto Mile, at the south end of the park is a nice new restaurant and fountains (complete with lifeguards!) where you can go splash in the water to cool off.
