Recycling is definitely a feel-good kind of activity. Once you have embraced the concept then anything you can divert from a landfill is going to be a good thing. For this event, the sponsors encourage neighborhood residents to drop off all their bulky items such as furniture, TVs, computers, fax machines, copiers and yard waste that couldn’t be thrown out in the weekly recycle bin pick-up. Although this was a noble effort it was only held between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on a single Saturday. That’s not very practically for a lot of folks when you consider how jammed packed their weekends are. What’s the alternative?
