The Three Kings Of Recycling

The Three Kings Of Recycling

There is recycling and then there is REAL recycling. And the kings of recycling are metals, glass, and paper.

While we all probably know these as three of the most commonly recycled materials, not many realize how completely recyclable they are.

All kinds of materials can be reused and even recycled such as foams, fabrics, a variety of plastics, concrete, and wood materials.

But none of these have anything over the three kings of reyclables: metals, glass, and paper.

To Infinity and Beyond!

Okay, not so much for paper. But the fact is that most waste paper can be recycled up to six or seven times before the essential fibers become too short to be reused. And cardboard - a type of paper product - has it's own claim to recycling fame for longevity.

Steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals can be recycled continuously without end. And if you're curious as to what "other" metals are,

"In metallurgy, a non-ferrous metal is a metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron (ferrite) in appreciable amounts. ... Important non-ferrous metals include aluminium, copper, lead, nickel, tin, titanium and zinc, and alloys such as brass."

Then there's the other immortal of recyclables - glass.

An article from the Glass Processing Institute has this to say about it,

"Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity. Glass is made from readily-available domestic materials, such as sand, soda ash, limestone and “cullet,” the industry term for furnace-ready recycled glass."

In fact, you may be surprised at the benefits of recycling these incredible resources. With that in mind, we created this infographic with some statistics on glass, metal, and paper recycling:

An Eco-Friendly Junk Hauling Choice for You

Junk King is not one of those faceless corporate entities that merely post obligatory slogans about being environmentally responsible. At Junk King, we are wholly committed to recycling as much of the junk we pick up as possible.

In fact, we founded Junk King in 2005 as the first recycling-based junk removal operation. In all that we do, from pick up, hauling, and to disposal, the goal of recycling everything and anything that can be recycled drives our process.

As our trucks travel throughout the day picking up unwanted items, our teams pack the truck to unpack the items quickly and efficiently.

The goal is to be efficient in our operations, and keep our landfills free of unnecessary items.
