That also applies to the city workers. The snowplows and salt crews have to work around the clock but the garbage pickups are often delayed. That’s what happened recently when the garbage trucks were kept off the street for a day. Like the holidays, this had a ripple effect all across Pittsburgh. It was also a reminder of how dependent we are on our municipal services. Of course, there are some jobs that you’re better off doing on your own or at least with a little profession help.
