There is change coming to Beaver Falls; at least change for some crumbling sidewalks. Because so many sidewalks are cracked, ruptured and falling apart, folks are forced to walk in the street. That can’t be good. This is why the City of Beaver Falls put forth a new ordinance about sidewalk repairs. It is now the responsibility of every property owner to make sure their pavements are in “good repair.” In the coming months, Beaver Falls’ inspectors will fan out across the city to check out all the sidewalks. Any pavement that is found “lacking” will be cited. Then you have until 2015 to fix the sidewalk or expect a citation. This ordinance applies to homeowners and commercial property owners.
If the cracks in your sidewalk are weather related as opposed to tree root related, then you shouldn’t be stressed out over replacing your sidewalks. In fact, it could be a perfect DIY project once the weather turns warmer. You definitely don’t want to pour cement in the cold! Before you get to that cement, you’ll first have to dig up the old pavement. The best option is to rent a jackhammer. Yes, you can do that and yes, it will be a lot of fun! Of course, you’re going to have a lot of broken up bits of concrete to get rid of. For that kind of junk removal, the only call you should make is to Junk King Pittsburgh.
