Another issue with the City option is the pickup trucks they use for the removal. They are typically too small to handle large or heavy items; appliances, furniture, yard debris, metal, and equipment come to mind for things they won’t accept—their trucks are primitive. However, they are still an “affordable” solution for a homeowner looking for some slack, so take advantage of the 12 per year rule.
Community Services
Many HOAs and COAs use rental dumpsters as a community form of large waste solution. These work by the dumpster staying there on the property; once a week, a driver empties the dumpster and takes it to a recycling center or landfill.
Residents can find these community services in suburbs and parks mostly. Arguably, a more common waste solution is using the property dumpsters of small businesses. However, one should never do this, as companies can throw away dangerous materials. Further, too much trash in those dumpsters means the lids can’t close—they won’t be taken away until next week if they can close.
Do-It-Yourself Options
