Kansas City July 4th Junk Removal The 4th of July holiday is truly the most American of holidays. After all, we’re really remembering the day we became an independent nation. While a lot of the actual history might get lost in all the fun, one thing you can always count on for the 4th are fireworks. In Kansas City, the 4th of July kicks off several days early on June 25 where the City of Greenwood will be having a fireworks display at Hitt Park. The following days will find the skies over Kansas City chock full of fireworks. Here’s a small sampling: Thursday, June 30, 2011 Mahaffie 19th Century Fireworks and Olathe Civic Band Concert. Starting at 6 p.m. you’ll be able to join the Olathe Civic Band for a rousing concert that will be followed by 19th century fireworks by the Olathe Fire Department. Folks are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinner. Friday, July 1, 2011 Legacy Blast at Legacy Park with food stalls, moon bounces, music and of course fireworks. Saturday, July 2, 2011 Booms & Blooms – Powell Gardens, Kingsville, MO is an all day celebration starting at 9 a.m. to dark. There will be fun for the kids, ice cream and a music concert starting at 4:30 p.m. featuring Lee’s Summit Symphony with fireworks to follow Sunday, July 3, 2011 KC Riverfest will be held at the Berkley Riverfront Park. The gates open at 1 p.m. for festival food, live music, children’s area and fireworks. As for the actual 4th, it will be covered with firework displays and celebrations throughout the day. You might be fortunate enough to live within viewing range of one of those great fireworks show. If so, then throwing an old fashion 4th of July bash could be plenty of fun.
