Summer Cleaning Blues – Let Junk King Be your Junk Hauler

Summer is nearly here and it’s a great time to get your business cleaned and organized, especially if you missed the boat on spring cleaning. Junk King can help you get your business in tip-top shape by hauling away your junk and trash. Our high-quality services focus on customer satisfaction, professionalism, and responsible disposal of waste products. How can your business benefit from a thorough summer cleaning? Here are four ways:

 Peace, love, and organization

Nobody can deny that a clean, organized work-space inspires a sense of calm. Being able to easily access important items makes the workday so much easier. Good organization starts with going through all of your stuff and getting rid of anything that is no longer useful. Old or broken merchandise, outdated books and manuals, and last year’s display and decorations are all things that may need to be tossed. After you sort through everything, you can implement an organizational system for the things that remain. Junk King will come and haul away the stuff that needs to go. You not only help your employees feel comfortable but also decrease your employee turn over rate by having friendly surroundings.

Discourage pests, bugs, and critters Summer-Cleaning-Blues-Let-Junk-King-Be-your-Junk-Hauler-Junk-king-CA

Clean, open spaces offer few hiding places for unwanted bugs and rodents. On the other hand, stacks of boxes, old papers, and lots of clutter tend to act as an open invitation to creepy-crawlers. If you don’t want mice setting up shop in unused packing material or spiders laying eggs in the dark recesses of your business, a little cleaning will go a long way. It’s doubly important to address this in the summer when pests are more active. Disposing of junk and trash will help remove environments that harbor pests and also give you the opportunity to identify and remove existing infestations.

A penny saved is a penny earned

Have you ever had one of those experiences where you buy something you need only to go home and realize you already had it? Doing this at your business can cost you money that could be better spent elsewhere. Getting your business organized helps you figure out exactly what you have and what you need. Plus, going through and clearing out your old stuff makes room for new merchandise or equipment. Not to mention, getting rid of old stuff and utilizing your space more efficiently may help you avoid the need for storage space, further saving you money.

 Give your business a makeover

Getting your stuff organized gives you the perfect opportunity to redecorate your shop, paint walls, rearrange displays, or any other fun DIY projects. If you’re already going to be cleaning and moving stuff around, you might as well go all the way! Businesses that sell products directly to the public can benefit from changing things up regularly. It’s a good way to draw existing customers back for another look. Plus, you can attract new customers who may just be curious. Social media is a great way to tell customers about changes and updates. Even if your company doesn’t sell products at a storefront, sprucing things up can still help boost your productivity. You can move work-spaces around so that they are more comfortable for your employees or set up a more pleasant waiting area. It all starts with cleaning up and having your old junk hauled away by Junk King.

Summer cleaning may not be the most pleasant task on your to-do list, but it is a necessary one. Instilling a sense of order, preventing pests, saving money, and giving your business a face-lift are all benefits of cleaning up. Junk King can help make the process easier by hauling away your unwanted items and disposing of them responsibly so contact us when you have junk hauling needs.

How Does Recycling Electronics Help The Environment?

Recycling Electronics in a safe manner is important if we are to protect our environment. If you have old or broken electronics that you want to get rid of, do not throw them in the trash! Improper disposal of electronics causes all sorts of harm to our planet. Do the environment as well as future generations of humanity an enormous favor by recycling your electronics. If you don’t want to take your items to a recycling center or if there isn’t one in your area, reach out to the junk haulers at Junk King. We bring all electronics to our recycling hub to determine what can be salvaged. Let’s take a look at exactly how failing to recycle electronics damages our environment.

Recycling Electronics – Hazardous Chemicals How - Does - Recycling - Electronics - Help - The - Environment -Junk-King-Marin-CA

Computers and many other electronics are made with harmful chemicals and materials like cadmium, chromium, mercury, lead, arsenic, selenium, beryllium and chemical flame retardants. Something as small as a computer monitor has four pounds of lead. When these chemicals leak out of discarded devices, they seep into the soil and eventually reach the water table. Can you imagine drinking or bathing with water that is full of nasty chemicals? It has happened before and it will continue to happen if people fail to recycle their electronics.

E-Waste Often is Often Transported to Third World Countries

Plenty of the e-waste generated in developed countries actually ends up in undeveloped areas of the world. If the electronics are not processed at a certified electronics recycling operation, there is a good chance that they will be transported to impoverished countries. Unfortunately, many of the people residing in these countries are not aware of how to properly discard e-waste. Furthermore, most undeveloped countries are not capable of handling these hazardous materials in the proper manner. Plenty of this e-waste ends up being dumped in landfills or other areas, causing irreparable harm to our planet. It seeps into the water supply, poisoning the residents of these countries as well as their livestock. Some third world countries even burn old and broken electronics, creating nasty air pollution.

Preserve Our Natural Resources

Though few know it, e-waste has an array of valuable materials like silver, copper, gold and ferrous metals. These materials can be re-used after the electronic device breaks or is no longer desired by the owner. Do everyone on the planet a favor by recycling your electronics so that the re-usable materials can be applied to new electronic devices.

Preserve Our Landfill Space

It is no secret that our landfills are overflowing with junk. Too many junk haulers head right on over to the landfill with whatever they remove from homes, businesses and other sites. Junk King bucks the trend by analyzing each and every piece of junk to determine if it can be donated or recycled. The unfortunate truth is that the electronics you put in your trash will end up in an overcrowded landfill. Do your part by recycling these items so that landfill space can be preserved for non-hazardous items that actually belong there.

Let Junk King Recycle Your old Electronics for You

You really do have to power to preserve the integrity of our planet. Ally with the junk aficionados at Junk King and we’ll do everything possible to prevent your electronics from harming the environment. The electronics we pick up are either recycled or re-used by those who can obtain some utility out of those items. It is a stark contrast from our competitors who often dump anything and everything they pick up. Reach out to Junk King today to learn more about our relationships with recycling hubs and our green junk removal service. You can reach us by dialing 888-888-5865 or email us.

How to Recycle Broken Concrete

Most of the usual suspects behind construction and demolition (C&D) debris can be recycled and repurposed for later use. These materials can be repurposed as road base, converted back into new consumer goods, turned into mulches and biomass fuel, or even form the bedrock of new construction projects.

Reasons to Recycle Broken Concrete How-to-Recycle-Broken-Concrete-valley-comfort-heating-and-air-CA

This last is the case when you’re looking into recycling broken concrete. Broken and crushed concrete can eventually be processed and repurposed into the dry aggregate and gravel base forming new, usable concrete.

Deconstruction and Reuse

In fact, the Construction and Demolition Debris wing of the CalRecycle program on green building construction and reusing, for instance, aggregates from crushed concrete and soil amendment from grounded up drywall scraps.

The process of taking apart a building piece by piece and recycling certain materials is known as deconstructing. This is definitely a more “green” option than strictly demolishing the building and sending all of the construction and demolition debris to your local landfill.

By deconstructing your building you can recycle and reuse parts that were originally features of the building’s windows, fixtures or underlying frame. Green building and deconstructions and recycling – in lieu of demolitions and straight disposal – keep these construction materials in circulation and put less of a strain on the environment.

A professional waste removal company can be a godsend when it comes to broken down concrete because the stuff is frankly durable and heavy. Fortunately, though, broken down concrete also has a high embodied energy score, which makes it especially suited to recycled reuse as opposed to disposal and landfills.

Supply Companies

Building materials supply companies or landscape construction materials companies also typically except broken down concrete from which they can create new roads in lieu of gravel mining the raw materials.

Contact us and we can safely and professionally move away any broken concrete from your premises to any desired location.  We all want to contribute to the health of the environment and we at Junk king will ensure the process is done in such a manner in order to achieve this.

Choosing to recycle your broken down concrete can be a boon for the environment as well as industries looking for raw building materials or municipalities looking for repurposed aggregate materials for road construction.

Then again, if you just want construction and demolition debris taken care of right away, you can always contact Jung King for competitive rates and two-hour service windows.

What To Do With Your Junk?

Junk is a lot like traffic – you don’t really notice that it’s there until you’re overwhelmed by it. At first you have one or two unused pieces of furniture around your home or a few underemployed printers at the office – remember fax machines? – then you find yourself overrun by 20th-century technology.

When we say “junk” that actually includes more than you might think. The average American gets over 40 pounds of junk mail every year. That’s junk. Did you also know that Americans also eat, on average, 35 to 40 tons of food in their lifetime!

While there’s a lot of viable food (and food waste) that goes along with that, there’s also a whole lot of soiled cups, bowls and utensils that – if not recyclable in the form of aluminum cans, paper, or glass – should be considered junk.

How to Dispose of Junk

The point is that just looking around our homes and offices we can spot a lot of junk: Some of which can be disposed of in our daily trash pickup while other kinds of junk are actually bulky waste that require special pickup.

And yet other kinds of junk could be categorized as recyclable material, electronic waste, yard refuse, construction debris, or even hazardous waste that we need to be careful around.

  • Recyclable Materials

First up are recyclable materials that might accidentally get lumped in with junk, but actually constitute items that can be put to further use.

What-To-Do-With-Your-Junk-junk-king-marin-CAThe average person, believe it or not, makes the mistake of confusing junk and recyclable materials pretty often – nearly three million tons of otherwise recyclable aluminum are tossed away every year instead of thrown into the blue recycling bin.

Office paper that you have sitting around, corrugated cardboard that may have once housed a package that you received in the mail, and old newspapers and paperboard should also be categorized as recyclable materials rather than junk. Newspapers are made from recyclable fiber and can, therefore, usually be recycled.

The interesting thing is that a lot of the glossy magazines out today can also be recycled because recycling technology has improved so much over the years. That’s something to bear in mind when eying your regular trash can instead of the blue recycling one when touting your magazines to the curb.

  • Electronic Waste

Electronic waste, or e-waste, is a term that we use referring to used or obsolete electronics that you have collecting dust in your home office or place of work.

https://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/electronics/whatisewaste/

Because of high turnover in the tech industry and the rate of change today, more electronic waste is being generated than ever before.

Things like old desktops, keyboards, printers and obsolete DVD players are obviously electronic waste, but household appliances like microwaves and dishwashers might also qualify since there’s no hard-and-fast definition of what is and isn’t e-waste.

Just make sure that if you use a department store’s e-waste recycling program that you’re not turning in something that would be better categorized as hazardous or bulky waste.

  • Bulky Waste

Bulky waste (a.k.a., bulky refuse) are items like HVAC units and certain dishwashers that are too large for regular trash collection. You might need the help of a junk removal company like Junk King to take these items off your hands.

/locations/marin

Why? Because Junk King can pick up bulky waste items like yard refuse, mattresses, large appliances and foreclosure clean out items using heavy-duty devices like grapple trucks. Junk King can also help you remove construction waste and e-waste like old televisions that you aren’t sure are recyclable. Set up an appointment online today!

California Trash Pickup Rules

California trash pickup is very important and in Cali authorities and citizens pay special attention to keeping the environment clean. One of the few tangible perks of paying property taxes is that your trash gets hauled away on a routine schedule every week.

Nobody really likes to pay taxes yet most of us appreciate the convenience of a weekly trash pickup service making our trash bags disappear on a predictable schedule.

Junk-King-Marin-California-Trash-Pickup-Rules-CACalifornia’s Trash Pickup Rules

The public works in your city likely has three different designations for your trash: plain old trash, recyclable materials like cans and plastic bottles, and green waste materials.

Trash Vs. Recyclables

Trash is what you might expect and includes food waste like cups, napkins, orange peels and spent coffee as well as things like paper towels and orange peels.

Other things like dry, clean paper, magazines, post-it notes and junk mail are actually considered recyclable paper materials that should go into the recycling container. Generally you can recycle:

  • Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Milk jugs
  • Clean paper
  • Styrofoam
  • Glass bottles

https://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/recycle/

You can even earn money back via the California Refund Value amount by recycling eligible plastics, glasses and aluminum products through local recycling centers. There are over 2,000 recycling centers dotted throughout the state of California, and many municipalities in California actually will pickup your recycling containers once per week, if you’d rather go that route.

What You Can’t Recycle

What you need to bear in mind is that some items that seem like a no-brainer for the blue recycling bin might actually be non-recyclable since they’re soiled (trash) waste. Things like oily pizza boxes can’t logistically be properly recycled, so those belong in the trash bin instead of the recycling one.

You also can’t pop any broken glass, hazardous materials (e.g., batteries and pesticides) or even soiled diapers into the recycling bin. Although there’s still usable plastic and paper in soiled diapers, it simply would be too difficult for recycling centers to take what they needed and, ahem, dispose of the rest.

The same goes for most tires, construction debris, hoses, products made from concrete, and the electrical cords that snake through your home. These should be put in the trash or disposed of properly in accordance with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control’s policies.

Hazardous waste is probably dangerous for you to handle without the proper equipment and often poses environmental and public health dangers as well. Because hazardous waste has four components to it that pose dangers – namely, its ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity and, of course, its toxicity – you need to be extra careful around hazardous materials like certain paints, pesticides and oils.

So, What’s Green Waste?

Green waste is actually the biodegradable waste that comes from gardens and parks. Things like grass and hedge trimmings as well as other domestic waste that’s high in nitrogen and biodegradable – i.e., materials that can be broken down naturally and don’t pose an environmental danger like the hazardous waste mentioned above.

Three Colors: Three Types of Waste

Usually, you can expect a weekly pickup of your trash, recyclables and green waste to come once per week. And just so that we’re all on the same page, trash is normally in a brown barrel, recyclables should be put in blue barrels marked with the recycling logo and green waste should go into, appropriately enough, green barrels.

You should have your waste sorted in the appropriate colored container and by the curb ready for pickup in the morning. Just bear in mind that sometimes your recycling pickup day is a different one from your regular trash pickup day. In California, you can call 311 for municipal services in your area, and for larger projects you can call Junk King.

Bulky Waste Disposal Facts

What-You-Need-To-Know-About-Bulky-Waste-Disposal-Junk-King-Marin-CABulky waste and bulky refuse are waste management terms that refer to waste that’s simply too large and cumbersome to be accepted by your normal waste collectors.

While that may not be the best news in the world, there’s a silver lining to the story: you can normally schedule one or more bulky waste pickups through your city’s public works department or have your commercial bulky waste handled by professionals.

What Exactly is Bulky Waste?

Larger appliances like big-screen televisions and kitchen ovens along with no longer useful furniture items like couches and dining room tables tend to make up the lion’s share of bulky residential waste. That said, a few items from the bathroom like sinks and bathtubs also might wind up on the curb and be considered bulky waste as well.

Residential bulky waste also comprises things like mattresses and recliners, or myriad other larger items that won’t fit in your regular trash container. Hefty yard equipment like lawnmowers, wheelbarrows or even basketball hoops are considered residential bulky waste, and all of these items are classified as acceptable bulky waste items ready for local pickup.

  • Disassembling Bulky Waste

You’ll just want to make sure that extremely cumbersome bulky waste like gym sets, swing sets and other complex yard waste is partly dissembled prior to pickup so that it can be easily taken off your property. If you don’t want to go through your local public works department or disassemble your own bulky residential waste, then you can always hire professionals to remove your yard waste, mattresses and large appliances.

Generally speaking, most kitchen appliances (e.g., ovens and refrigerators) will be considered acceptable bulky waste by your local public works. Likewise with patio furniture or old couches, chairs and bureaus that are languishing around the house or collecting cobwebs in the garage. You should find out beforehand whether you need to break up your bulky waste or whether it might be better to keep it intact.

  • Specific Rules to Follow

A lot of places prefer that, for instance, doors be removed from fridges, washing machines and ovens for safety reasons but that couches be kept intact. Furniture pieces like couches and chairs should actually be kept intact more often than not prior to disposal because they can be easier to move that way and many people prefer to reuse old items in their homes.

While a stained bathtub or derelict dishwasher might well have its best days behind it, a clean and fully functional couch can actually be re-purposed by another homeowner. This is fully in line with California’s renewed push to reduce, reuse and recycle all across the state, save usable items from winding up in landfills and do the environmentally responsible thing.

Bulky Waste and Hazardous Items

On the topic of environmental stewardship, there are a few items conventionally considered residential bulky waste that public works just won’t touch. These include things like car engines, drywall, satellite dishes, lead-containing cathode ray tube monitors, and other forms of electronic waste.

Because these items can be hazardous to handle and put a strain on the environment, you may want to contact household hazardous waste collection facilities in California or get in touch with Jung King if you have a mountain of commercial hazardous waste on your hands.

https://info.junk-king.com/construction-garbage-removal-is-it-hazardous

Commercial waste, glass panes, treated wood, paint, concrete and vehicle batteries are typically considered unacceptable forms of bulky waste, which means that your best bet might be going through Jung King to responsibly handle drywall, windows and other forms of construction debris before it becomes a personal or environmental burden.

Moving? 5 Tips to Keep it Green with Junk Removal

Moving? 5 Tips to Keep it Green with Junk Removal Junk-King Marin While we’ve all moved, few of us have consciously made a “green move”. A green move involves a bit of preparation and plenty of junk removal. The first step in any green move is to drastically reduce the amount that you have to haul. This is precisely why a professional junk removal service is essential to a quick, clean, light and easy move.

Eliminate Everything That is Unnecessary with Junk Removal

When it is time to make your next move, do not merely load up all of your belongings into boxes and stack them into a moving truck. Go through all of your possessions from clothing to appliances and electronics to determine what you really need. Create separate piles for “must haves”, “donations” and “junk removal”. Then hold a garage sale and call up Junk King to get rid of everything that is not truly necessary for your new digs. With less items to move, you will have decreased costs as movers typically charge according to the weight of your items.

Rent Plastic Crates

Instead of asking friends and family for used boxes, go ahead and rent plastic crates. Plastic crates can be reserved online, delivered and then picked up at your new digs. This is a much more green option than using those old cardboard boxes that tend to break when carried.

Consider the Type of Moving Truck

Nowadays, it is possible to research the types of moving trucks that various moving companies use. A surprising number of moving companies are using trucks that operate on comparatively clean biodiesel. It might take half an hour of research and a couple phone calls to find a local moving company that has these types of green trucks but you will be doing your part to preserve the environment.

Use Eco-friendly Moving Supplies

Aside from the plastic crates mentioned above, there are all sorts of planet-friendly moving supplies available for those who need to make a move. You can find 100% recyclable packing materials that will keep Earth green and clean. You can even obtain biodegradable eco-bubble wrap for your move as well. Don’t be afraid to ask your moving company for used boxes or crates made of recyclable materials as well. Plenty of these companies will even provide you with a refund if you return unused boxes at the end of the move.

Use Real Popcorn Instead of Foam Popcorn

While it is tempting to use foam peanuts and popcorn to secure your fragile items in moving boxes, do not give into temptation. You can do the environment a big favor by using real popcorn. Go ahead and pop the kernels but don’t add the salt and butter! Real popcorn can fill in the gaps in your boxes to keep your fragile items safe and sound throughout the moving process. This way, you won’t have to trash the foam peanuts or let them sit in the basement until your next move. Once you have settled into your new digs, feed your used popcorn to the birds to complete the ultimate green move.

Lean on Junk-King to Facilitate Your Green Move

Enjoy Easy Home Improvement Cleanup With the Help of Junk Removal

Enjoy Easy Home Improvement Cleanup With the Help of Junk Removal Junk-King MarinHome improvement is the best way to make a house feel more like a real home for you; it is also a great way to upgrade the value of a house to sell it for a greater profit. Regardless of why you want to make some home improvements, one thing is for certain: you will end up with a lot of junk to clear out by the time you are finished. Getting rid of this junk on your own is a difficult undertaking. The best way to take care of this big problem is by hiring the help of a professional junk removal service.

Why should I hire a professional junk removal service?

While it is “technically” possible to do junk removal on your own, you never should. Here are the reasons why:

You don’t have to find a place to keep the junk out of the way

As junk accumulates throughout the course of your home improvement project, you will have to find a way to keep it out of the way. First, you will simply shuffle it around so that it doesn’t interfere with your home improvement endeavors; then, you will have to move it somewhere as a part of the cleanup process. Even after this, however, the junk will your problem to deal with; storing it is a waste of money and keeping garish junk in and around your house defeats the purpose of your home improvement project (it is also safety hazard, since the sight of random junk can attract curious thieves).

Trying to manage junk removal on your own can cause a lot of problems,

The city won’t take your junk like they take your trash

Junk removal isn’t as simple as throwing out the trash. Unlike basic waste disposal, your city’s local sanitation workers won’t come and pick it up — in fact, you may be fined after putting large pieces of junk on the curb.

You have to transport the junk yourself

If you are handling junk removal yourself, that is exactly what you are doing: handling it yourself. This means that you have to first locate someone who will even take your junk in the first place, and this is the easy part. Next, you need to procure transportation for your junk removal — even if you have a pickup truck on hand, this is a problem when you have large pieces of junk. Finally, you have to load the junk up and transport it yourself; this can be dangerous, as lifting heavy objects yourself can lead to injury. Even hiring professional movers for this task is a bad idea, because they will charge you exorbitant fees for something that shouldn’t be all that expensive. The safest, most cost-effective, most efficient junk removal option is to hire the services of a junk removal pro.

You could end up making a mistake

Hauling your junk off to the wrong place can cause big problems for you. This is because there’s no way that you can be certain about whether or not your junk will actually be accepted; if it isn’t, then you will waste a trip.

Don’t waste your time trying to figure out what to do with your post-removal junk — just hire a pro

You started your home improvement project so that you could enjoy — or profit from — an upgraded home, not so that you could figure out how to get rid of a huge pile of worthless junk. Make sure that you minimize your costs, protect your safety and ultimately get rid of your junk, hire the services of a junk removal pro.

How to Recycle a Computer and Other E-Waste

How to Recycle a Computer and Other E-Waste Junk-King MarinThe phrase, “please recycle,” has been taken very seriously here at Junk-King over the last decade, as we’ve been able to provide both businesses and residences with a number of ways to contribute to the collective environmental cause. Aside from hauling literally tons of unwanted household items away and putting them to good use elsewhere, many of our customers are still inquiring about how to properly dispose of or recycle their old computers and a number of other electronic devices as well.  Also known as E-waste, this category also includes printers/copiers, keyboards, fax machines, TVs, CGA and monochrome monitors, cell phones, stereos, and the list continues; in fact, most anything containing circuitry, heavy metals and hard plastics together can either be refurbished or broken down into parts and recycled.

Reasons to Recycle E-Waste

One of the main reasons why we recycle and/or refurbish any of the above items can be attributed to the toxicity factor. Many of these items contain copper, lead, mercury, and other potentially harmful components, which have proven to cause a number of health-related issues if not handled in a safe manner. We can no longer risk throwing these items in the garbage and having them hauled off and buried in landfills. Over time, these elements can contaminate the soil, which can lead to some serious problems down the road. During heavier rain periods, discarded contaminants can eventually reach the surface and turn into toxic water runoff. With our current water supply diminishing as each day passes, the last thing we need is another environmental problem to deal with. This is one of the reasons why we urge everyone to recycle their digital devices.

How to Recycle E-Waste the Easy Way

Junk-King specializes in doing the hard work for you when it comes to safely removing unwanted E-waste from your business or your home. You can do it yourself if you can possibly manage the time, or you can save yourself some time, trouble and money by allowing us to do what we do best. Junk-King has been working with a variety of charitable organizations for years, and we’re very much in tune with the process. To recycle your electronic items is a great way to keep things green, yet donating your used wares can serve those in your community and beyond with the tools they need to succeed. No matter the case, many people will benefit from either of these services we provide. It’s also important to point out that many of these items can be used as tax deductions when going through the proper channels. While saving money seems to be on most everyone’s mind, you can book an appointment online and save yourself an extra $30.00 or simply give us a call and we’ll take care of the details.

Whether you own a business, a home, or both, Junk-King also takes pride in the promise that no job is too big or too small, unless you’re only looking for a place to dispose of your old cell phone; we’ll let you recycle that one on your own.

How Often Should You Recycle?

How will you know when it’s time to recycle? Most businesses will have their E-waste items picked up every six months or so, while homeowners often do this as an annual housecleaning sort of thing. You may also want to keep in mind that Junk-King has no problem with mixed loads of disposables. From electronics to fridges to mattresses, we’ll haul it all in one fell swoop. Problem solved!

Disposal Options for Construction Waste and Concrete

Disposal Options for Construction Waste and Concrete Junk-King MarinConstruction waste includes a variety of the different materials left over from remodeling or renovating homes, businesses, or public recreational areas. Often times these materials can be considered hazardous or toxic, whether coming from your home, yard, or various construction sites in the immediate area.

And believe it or not, even concrete can pose a threat to human health when broken down into smaller pieces, as the miniscule particles can create airborne sicknesses and other health-related complications. Here at Junk-King, our primary concern is keeping you and your family from being exposed to these various types of construction waste and properly dispose of these elements before anything bad happens and do our best to avoid Murphy’s law altogether.

What Qualifies as Construction Waste?

Construction waste can range anywhere from asbestos to window frames; everything else in between may include rebar and other metals, electrical wiring, nails, insulation, plywood, drywall, roofing materials, and different types of concrete. Disposing of these materials quickly is our primary objective, as we’ll sort through each type of construction waste, categorize it, and haul it off to its proper destination. While some of these items are recyclable, others require special handling, and our team is prepared to deal with each item of refuse accordingly. The potentially harmful materials, are often packaged and sealed before transport, and in some cases, deposited into 55 gallon drums prior to being hauled off to a disposal facility. These types of materials will be removed from your site first, mainly because it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Recyclable Construction Waste

Many post-demolition construction waste items can be recycled, which includes different types of concrete. Clean concrete, also known as concrete free of any other debris, is put through a crushing machine and then recycled. The same principle applies to bricks and other types of masonry, which is much better than the old-school way of carting it off to the nearest landfill. Other materials such as lumber, metals, rigid plastics, and attic insulation can be recycled as well. It may take us a little extra time sorting through the rubble, but after all is said and done; a majority of said construction waste will be on its way to a number of recycling destinations.

Junk-King; the Construction Waste Alternative

While many construction sites are accompanied by huge bin receptacles, the refuse is often dumped into these bins and off to the landfills they go! No sorting through potentially reusable items; in fact, no sorting at all! It’s not illegal, but it is upsetting to see how some could care less about protecting the environment when it’s constantly in peril. We take construction waste, or any other refuse for that matter, very seriously, and we’re doing all we can to get the word out about how recycling is really making a significant difference in the community. Instead of making unwanted materials a problem, we’re making them a part of a much-needed solution.

If you’re in need of having any of the above-mentioned construction waste-related services performed, you can give us a call at our toll-free number or book an appointment online and save up to $30.00 as a bonus. If you haven’t used our services yet, Junk-King also specializes in properly disposing of and/or refurbishing all types of household appliances, furniture, and many other bulk items as well. As it stands, we’ll either match or beat any other written estimate, guaranteed! Still not convinced? Read our customer reviews and maybe you’ll see why Junk-King stands proud at the top of the heap!
