Toddler Backyard Birthday Party Tips

Summer is a time for backyard parties. If your toddler is turning a year older this summer, then you’ll want to put that backyard to good use. If the perfect place to have a lot of kids and family in a comfortable setting. Here are some terrific toddler birthday party tips that will take your party to the next level:

Tip #1: Pick a Theme

As with all great parties, your toddler party needs to start with a theme. Even before you send out an invitation, you need the theme. There is where you can get your toddler involved with the decision making process. They will most likely have a favorite TV show by now. Chances are whatever that show is, there will be plates, napkins, balloons and cakes to match.

Tip #2: Don’t Go Overboard

Yes, parents do tend to go overboard with the parties. It’s not uncommon to have a bouncy house, a balloon sculptor, a magician, a clown and a petting zoo. Truth be told, any one of those would be enough for a party but you don’t need them all.

Tip #3: Set the Timer

How many invitations have you gotten for a party that reads, “Starts at 8:00 until…?” That’s the open-ended kind of fun that adults live for. In the toddler realm, it is much better to put a time limit on things. Two hours max should be the limit. By a half hour into the party, you can do your “main event” entertainment item. An hour in, it’s time for the cake. Once the candles are blown out, the cake is eaten and the kids have run off that sugar it’s time to pack it up. In, out and nobody gets hurt.

Tip #4: Always Remember It’s a Kid’s Party

Although the mommies and daddies will be invited, it is still a kid’s party. You don’t need gourmet appetizers for the guests. You want the kids happy: Pizza, ice cream and cake work together very well.

Before you fill up one balloon you want to make sure your backyard is ready for the party. This is where call to junk King Richmond can be a big help. You may think that your backyard swing set would be a great feature for a toddler birthday party. However, if that swing set has seen better days and is starting to rust and fray, then you might be better off having it removed before the party. The crew from junk King Richmond can certainly handle that task along with removing any other type of yard waste or debris.

Make your toddler happy with a clean backyard party full of fun and lots of cake!
