Cody Rodgers, owner of Junk King Fort Worth, always had a desire to be an entrepreneur. He took an interesting route to get to that dream. First, he was a professional pilot for a major airline. Then he did missionary work in Africa. After his missionary stint was completed, he had a blank slate and was looking to finally realize his entrepreneurial dream. He wanted to start a business that could grow quickly through a very scalable business model. Junk King had that business model along with the tools and sound advice that comes with a franchise system. As a child, Cody watched his dad go through the ups and downs of small business ownership. He was a full time real-estate investor and landlord. There were many times when abandoned properties needed a clean out. Cody helped his dad with these jobs. In fact, Cody learned to drive his dad’s little Isuzu truck pulling a trash trailer on those back roads to the landfill. Ironically, his business today uses Isuzu trucks for hauling.
