There’s good news for Monterey County 10th graders. According to the California Department of Education more of these students are passing the California High School Exit Exam then compared to past generations. For the past school year, 80% of students passed the English and math portions of the test. This represents a 3% gain in English and 1% gain in math. Any gain is a good gain!
How is your student with their homework habits? The goal is to make sure they do it on time and right. That can be helped by making sure they understand the assignment. You should encourage your child, no matter what age, to develop a relationship with their teacher which will allow them to ask any follow-up questions about the assignments. Students should also get into the habit of taking a lot of notes in class. Often they aren’t taught about these basic skills and you need to fill in the gap for them. Once they get into the habit of taking notes, they shouldn’t stop!
You can also help them get organized by making sure they keep their subjects separate. A few color-coordinated files will do the trick. Good homework habits depend on a distraction free zone at home. Often you’ll send your kid up to their room to do their homework but that might not be the best place especially if they can dive into some web surfing or have a video game console up there. Why not set up a homework zone closer to your eye-line? Perhaps this can be a desk or corner of a room with a dedicated computer just for homework. To help set up this space, you might need to call upon Junk King Monterey County. These are the experts when it comes to carting off trash and they won’t have any problems helping you with the clutter in your home.
Hiring a Junk King crew is like hiring your own private moving company. Instead of moving your stuff from one home to the next, they’ll be moving your junk away permanently. Ironically, this could be some of the same junk you brought over from the last move! This might also be the time when your child is making the transition from their Disney themed bedroom to a more mature (for a teen) decor. Out goes the racing car bed and in comes the single bed. Here Junk King Monterey can help loading up all those out dated furniture pieces along with clothes and toys they’ve outgrown. Yes, the kids are growing up and that means time to get rid of their old clutter. A home that is free of clutter is a much better homework zone. Let Junk King help with that back to school project!
