Keep Cleveland Beautiful is up and running and that’s very good news for Cleveland. Lisa Cooley is the Team Cleveland-Main Street Director and she recently laid out her plans for the program. Top of the clean up list would be the “Virgin Land” that is situated behind the Sharpe Street business district. They would also like to spruce up the Greenstrip downtown and spread the beautification message across all of Cleveland.

Downtown Cleveland
“I’m so excited about the community cleanup,” Lisa told a local newspaper. “Cleveland is already an attractive place but we should never get complacent. We should always look for ways to improve. The downtown cleanup project will be the first of many- we hope it sets the tone for the work Keep Cleveland Beautiful will do. In addition to improving the appearance of the alley, we want to promote the historical significance of the alley. As we approach the opening of the Grammy Museum, we need to really think about things that visitors can do while in Cleveland. The more tours, public art and historical information we can provide, the longer we will have their attention.”
No doubt, a big part of the cleanup will be a certain amount of junk hauling. Some thoughtless folks out there don’t care if they dump their trash in public areas. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could track down those individuals and bring all their trash back to them? Thankfully, we have the dedicated volunteers for Keep Cleveland Beautiful to pick up the trash. Another terrific partner for junk hauling would be Junk King Cleveland. These are the professional junk haulers who have been helping local homeowners and businesses clear out tons of clutter.
