Meet the Owner
Since 2018, Junk King Tulsa has been a family affair. Owner TJ Murray and his wife Jennifer have been operating the business with the support of their two loving children, Quint and Ella. TJ, a native of Ponca City, comes to Junk King with an extensive background in sales and account management. As the territory manager of Boyd Metals for 11 years, he gained experience in the scrapping and recycling of metals and became passionate about eco-friendly practices.
After years working in sales, both TJ and his wife felt motivated to grow professionally and personally through owning their own business. “When searching for my next business opportunity, it felt important to find a business that would help better our environment,” said Murray. “Once my wife and I were told about Junk King and how they recycle or repurpose over 60% of what they pickup we knew it was a natural fit.”
Besides spending time with his family, TJ enjoys running his cow/calf operation and hunting and fishing on his property in Blanchard. He also coaches his sons little league baseball team.
