If you stare out into your backyard and wonder “What went wrong with my garden?” it might be time for a little inspiration. The Garden Club of Virginia is putting on their 80th annual Historic Garden Walk. All cross the state there will be up 32 separate tours that will take visitors through nearly 250 homes and gardens. Here in Richmond the neighborhoods for the walk will be Chatham Hills and Windsor on the James, Laburnum Park; and Windsor Farms and Rothesay Circle and Loch Lomond.
Even if you don’t get a chance to take the tour, you could drop over to your closest Home Depot or other nursery to see what’s in bloom. That might be enough to fire up your passion for gardening. Whether you’re going for flowers, produce or a combination of both you’re going to want to start with a clean backyard. That’s where Junk King of Central VA can be a big help.
Although “junk” might be in their company name, Junk King Central VA is happy to haul away whatever you’re throwing out. That could mean piles of sod, mounds of dirt, construction & concrete debris, a hot tub, a swing set, planters, a BBQ grill or patio furniture. Pretty much anything that is taking up space in your yard that you want to toss out can end up on the back of the Junk King truck. Even fallen tree limbs from the last storm can be loaded up and taken away.
The Junk King crew can live up to their name by also helping you clear out the clutter from your garage, basement, attic or closets. Yes, some of what you’re throwing out might have a “history” but that doesn’t mean it is of any value. Do you really need a ping-pong table that nobody plays with? Do you need a mattress that no one will ever sleep on again? Do you need a sofa without any spring?
Getting rid of big stuff will let you take back the storage space in your home. Your garage can become a arts and crafts area or you could even start parking your car in there again! The basement can be upgraded to become a high-end screening room for the whole family to enjoy.
As for the closets, it should be out with the old and in with the new. The general rule of thumb is that if you haven’t used something in six months get rid of it. That could mean a full Junk King truck and that won’t be a problem, because you’ll be clutter free for once!
